I'm looking for a different type of wedding venue. Not your typical catering hall. Something with wood beams and very rustic looking. The theme I am going for is outdoor forest theme. Any ideas and suggestions?

The Riviera in Massapequa. If you're open for your date, I got a great quote for a Sunday.

The only venue I looked at that was rustic with exposed beams was the Stewart Manor Country Club. It's one wedding at a time, but a relatively small venue.

They tend to be expensive, but check out some of the vineyards out East. I think they're as rustic as you can go!

The Milleridge Cottage! All wood floors, wood beams, has a very home-y feel to it, and the food is amazing (not to be mistaken for the Milleridge Inn, different caterers and the food isn't so great)... The room has a beautiful fireplace behind the bride/groom table as well. It fits almost 350 people too, and is one wedding at a time. I just loved that it wasn't like a regular reception hall. It had this vintage, rustic feel to it that I fell in love with. Definitely check it out because the prices are great too!
If you want some pics, FM me I'll send you some. The website doesn't have alot of pics of the venue

Riviera is reasonably priced, and the staff is super helpful and nice. It's one wedding at a time, and run by a family. It has a homey feel and a tudor/rustic style.

This! I was going to suggest Old Field Club too. I didn't think it was that pricey though, was in the similar range as most of the catering halls we saw. Also check out the Three Village Inn! Loved it.. If you don't mind a nautical theme instead of a forest theme, check out Danford's in Port Jefferson.

Martha Clara was our original choice when we first got engaged. It's $10k just to rent the place before chairs/tables/food/anything!

The milleridge inn and cottage are in Jericho, but not on Jericho tpke. It is on broadway. But yeah they are on the same premises, but have totally different caterers. The Inn isn't so great with wedding food, but the cottage is phenomenal. The Inn is popular for smaller events, like bridal showers and e-parties. The cottage is really the main wedding venue though. How did you like the place?

Really? I thought the woman I spoke with said that tables and chairs were included, but I might be wrong. Maybe I just assumed that, b/c the morning I went to see it they were actually setting up for a wedding they were having that afternoon.
It's definitely cheaper if you have your wedding on a Friday or Sunday, but I think that goes for 99% of places now.

Rustic Wedding Venue
I originally wanted a rustic venue but after looking around I didn't find anything that I really liked. We ended up going with The Royalton. It's not rustic but you could really do any theme there because it's very neutral. I don't know if you want to travel to the Bronx. The New York Botanical Garden has a rustic venue on site.
The Hollockville Farm has a straight up Barn they rent out. Not sure about the site fees, but you would need outside vendors and catering of course. Now that's Rustic! I originally was dreaming of a Barn, but decided I wanted a little bit more Country Club a little less down in the Country lol
I second the Suggestion of Three Village Inn, I really loved it there, very quaint and rustic, but if you have a big wedding it probably wouldn't work. Ultimately we decided on Smithtown Landing Country Club (another Lessings Venue like Three Village), which has a gorgeous wooden deck where our ceremony will be, a Cocktail hour room with exposed beams and a fireplace, and The Ball Room is elegant but simple. It has a rustic Country Club vibe without being too dark/closed in. Nice white trim and molding, Wood dance floor, neutral palate. Best of all, FANTASTIC price lol. I def recommend looking at them if you are on a budget or looking for a deal. Anyway, Happy Hunting and Good Luck!
