Sad...

Sad...

My mom just told me that my great uncle died last night. He was a really wonderful man. Everyone just instantly took to him - DH only met him a few times, but really liked him.

It's especially sad because his wife died last February and he's just gone to pieces without her. I think it's amazing how losing your partner affects you not only emotionally, but physically as well...he just couldnt' go on without her...

this happened to my best friend...she lsot her grandpa and I think it was within a year (maybe 2) that her grandmother passed away....she was lost without him

I'm really sorry for your loss. My great grand parents also died one after the other. My great grand dad died in April and my great grandmother died on the 4 month anniversary of his death. They had been married for 65 years. She used to tell us after he died that it wasn't that she couldn't live without him it was that she didn't know how.

Aw, thanks guys...I wasn't really close to him, he was just a really nice man and it just makes me sad to think how hard he took his wife's death. And, strangely enough, in some ways it's oddly comforting to know just how much a couple can love and care for one another...
