Sad

I am just so sad. My cat has been sick since Saturday. We took him to the 24 hour hospital and I picked him up today...$1900.00 later and he is still not peeing properly I can't afford to keep bringing him back to the vet!! I am soooo sad!!

I'm so sorry to hear about your cat! I hope he starts doing better real soon!!

I am so sorry! It's so hard when a pet gets sick. I feel your pain because one of my dogs got hurt in September. Her hind legs were temporarily paralyzed after she ruptured a disc in her back (she took a little tumble when we were playing fetch with her---nothing out of the ordinary, she just must've twisted the wrong way).

OMG! I'm so sorry!! What did the vet say it was after the $1900?? Is it something they should have fixed? After I spent $2,600 on removing a rubber glove from my cat's tummy (she likes to eat things...) I got insurance for her, it was great peace of mind, and she hasn't eaten anything that big since!

They said it was not a guarantee that he would get better and I took him to his normal vet and they wanted another $500.00 I am definitely going to look into the pet insurance!!

OMG - I'm so sorry! I have a really great vet in Williston Park (The Cat Hospital) if you need a second opinion. Just be careful if you do get pet insurance because I don't think they cover pre-existing conditions in most cases (very annoying!). I hope your kitty feels better!

Make sure he doesn't have a urinary blockage. It can kill a male cat within 24 hours. You need to keep an eye on them. My cat had two or three blockages where he almost died. We had to have a sex change surgery where they amputate the penis so they can't have any urinary blockages. It cost $5000. But it has been 5 years since the surgery and we haven't had any problems. He has been perfectly healthy. I just am sure to feed him the urinary tract food.

Poor kitty. I would definitely recommend the surgery. We had Dr. Marino do it at the 24 hour vet off of the expressway. I forgot the name of the hospital.
