sad....

so last night FH and i went to see anotherrrr apartment. it was great. we left so excited and ready to put in an offer...

it was definately more $ than we thought we'd spend but we liked it. FH is more cautious than me and he left saying 'i would pay for this..this is worth it'

so now im soooooooo excited. he drives home n i came to my house....tell me why by the time i got home he got financial cold feet

he thinks we can find something 'just as nice' for less $....but we've been looking on-and-off for over a year!!!! and good things dont stay on the market long

im just reaaly sad b/c i dont think we will ever find a place to live/buy if he is scared of financial commitment............

oh, and during our convo i said a reallly stupid thing....i basically compared financial commitment to any commitment and said that 'if he always thought something better was out there, we wouldnt be getting married either'....i was just tryin to make the point that sometimes you just need to trust your gut and MOVE FORWARDS instead of being stuck with the thought of something else is always better on the other side.......but whyyyyy did i say that the night before he left for vegas on his bachelor party

anyway, we are not putting in any offer today ....and we probably wont talk abut this again till he is back on tuesday

Re: sad....

aww im sorry hun. i completely understand about saying things like that because i could hear your exact words coming out of my own mouth. and its how you felt, its true, it makes a lot of sense...although you know its not how he truly feels about you, hypothetically, i understand how that totally makes sense and you were frustrated with him and the sitation.

i work for a large real estate company, i didnt want to say anything before cuz i didnt want you to think i was trying to sell you on my company or something but honestly, sometimes the agent is a big factor is making te buyer feel comfident and comfortable with what they are about to put an offer in on. if you maybe wanted to change agents, i could reccomend a really excellent agent who i would personally work with when i begin to look for a house.

i agree with both sides...sometimes one feels like youll never be able to find something this nice again and sometimes but rarely its true...but most times, something else will come on, in your price range and usually something even better.

let me know if you need anything. feel better babe

awww i'm sorry. but if he's right, you're better off in the long run.

believe me, living in FMIL's house makes it very tempting to get out of here just to get out even though we can't afford it. if the apartment is over your head financially, you won't feel completely happy in it.

Re: sad....

Looking for a place to live can be tough... hang in there and you will find the right place. I can't tell you how many times I cried after looking at houses and having our offers rejected. It took us MONTHS to find something. We started in January and didn't have a signed contract on something until September. Just keep at it, try different areas.. your place will show up.

Re: sad....

sorry hunnieee but buying a place is definitely not something you want to rush into and you definitely want to be 100% positive that you love it and its a great decision/buy. i know youve been looking for a while but the last thing you want is to buy something and then for either one of you to regret it or not like it... itll work out, i always say everything happens for a reason

Re: sad....

You know what Janis, when you find the right house/apartment you will know it!! and FH won't get cold feet. Just pray on it and give it more time. I know it' s frustrating but house hunting is always difficult. It takes time...Good things comes to those who wait...FH and I looked at over 30 houses before we bought our house, and I am so glad we waited!

Re: sad....

thanks for all the kind, supportive words girl.

i definately do not want to pressure FH cuz i dont want anyone to have regrets. i am just tryin to understand his thought process...and it frustrates me when i cant make sense of it because what he said on tuesday is different than what he said yesterday...

thanks again girls. it has been a long week

Re: sad....

buying a house is a big commitment and is something that you really have to be sure about. if you guys are not 100% sure on a house/apt then keep looking around you will find it. its horrible when you put an offer on something you really are enthusiatic about, have done your research on only to be rejected. trust me i have been there! but just hang in there, you will find something!

Re: sad....

I totally get how you feel.
something similar happened when we first started looking for places. although the place we loved and picked out is the same place that we moved to-but a bigger nicer apartment. (go figure)
where are you looking? dont give up you will find the right place!
