9 days until my wedding and our guests are dropping like flies.
We invited 230, and now are down to 155... people are coming up with the lamest excuses.
Meeting the boyfriends parents for the first time (you've known about our wedding for over a year). A small family get-together- you couldn't pick another day?
3 weeks out - One Couple: we can't get a babysitter. Us- well bring the kid, or one of you come. Them - no response
Parent's oldest friends - one had elective eye surgery last week. Another just had a hip replacement... needed. BUT he could have done it a month ago, or 2 weeks after!
I have put so much effort into planning this wedding and people can't be bothered. I know its going to be a great day and the people that are there truly matter- but I can't help but take it personally. This should be the most exciting next week of my life and I can't help but me sad
Am I being crazy?

Re: SAD
no your not crazy and i would be hurt and upset too especially since we take alot of time to plan our dream wedding and then people come up with stupid excuses..remember this those who love you guys will make sure to be there and those who dont well you know they arent worth it and i wouldnt even bother with them anymore

Re: SAD
I went through the same thing you're going through the week before my wedding. People just cancelling out of nowhere. But in the end, it really didn't matter - the people that came we were so happy they were there, and the people that didn't we really didn't even think about them twice that day. Everything will be beautiful!!! Trust me.

Re: SAD
No, you're not crazy.
I don't think people understand all the work we put behind this and how important it is to us.
I'm so sorry you're going through this but just forget about them and remember this is your day and don't let anyone destroy it for you.

Re: SAD
It will happen - we got some stupid reasons for people not coming and true colors come out. Some people had totally valid reasons and we just understood they can't come...In the end, once you're there, you'll totally forget about it. I was also annoyed that I was feeling that way right before the wedding, but I got over it quickly

Sucks, as long you have no paid the hall in full and your not under your minimun you should be ok. I secretly want people to drop before Monday.

Re: SAD
no you are not being crazy at all. It amazes me what BULLSH*T excuses people can come with to not come. If you didn't want to come in the first place, then you should've NEVER RSVP'd yes! This makes me so mad for you and for all of us that this is happening to or will happen to b/c people have NO idea what we have to deal with and the cost of a wedding. I understand that sometimes that there are legitimate excuses, but sometimes i feel like others are just being lazy or are just plain a$$holes. it really makes me angry! and i have a bad feeling with mine too esp with the number of Yes we have. I'm very tempted to just give the RH a lower number than we have right now.
i actually had somebody who RSVP'd yes but just called me 2 days ago saying that they can't go. I'm so thankful that she told me ahead of time rather than so close to wedding where I printed everything.
