Sad and Happy...

Hey ladies!
So... this is a little sad... sorry in advance!

Last summer my mom was diagnosed with stage 4 uterine cancer. It has been really hard. She is on a clinical trial right now b/c they said just plain chemo wont cut it.

Well needless to say when I got engaged in March it was bitter sweet..the whole planning has been bitter sweet. There is a chance she really wont be at my wedding. (which is just unthinkable to me). ** if she takes a turn for the worse we are going to have a civil ceremony with just family so she can see us get married**

Anyways.... looking up wedding stuff online has helped her get her mind off of being sick...WHICH IS NICE! Also, she is making it a goal to make it to my wedding...

So...on to the HAPPY. Today we spent the day together... and it was so nice. She told me she had a surprise for me...and gave me a present... I opened it, and it was a brand new beautiful pearl necklace!!! AND the pearl earrings that she wore on her wedding day that matched perfectly!

She wanted to give them to me sooner rather than later...and she said Mother's Day would be the perfect time....b/c without me she would not be a mother of a beautiful bride to be.

I am the happiest daughter in the world today....and I wanted to share.

Oh my gosh, way to tug at my heart strings! I am so so sorry to hear about your mother but I am just as happy as you that you got to spend the day with her today... I think that was extremely thoughtful of her and I hope you treasure those pieces forever.

I'll say a prayer for you and your family... I really do hope a miracle happens for her <3 Tell her happy mother's day, and thank you for having YOU! :)

aww i have tears in my eyes! that is such a cute story and remind us of the REAL reason for our weddings! to marry the one we love and share that moment with the friends and family we love. sometiimes we get too caught up in the 'other' stuff to remember that! so beautiful!

aww that is so sweet! I really hope your mom can attend your wedding... I can't imagine how difficult a time this must be for you but I hope your mom can pull through.

It's so hard seeing someone you love so much go through that. I am soo happy you had that moment with your mom today. All these small moments prob mean so much to her and you. I hope she wins the fight and be there at your wedding to see you be such a beautiful bride.

ok you can't post things like this on a board full of women!!! I honestly think I started crying after reading the first line.

What an amazing gift! It is something you can treasure forever and then pass down to your children along with an amazing story about your WONDERFUL, STRONG, LOVING mother.

wow, this is something you'll remember forever. what a great gift to get from your mom- she was probably so happy to give you the jewelry you'll wear on your wedding day.
