Sad day

Hi Ladies,

I just needed to vent a little because this weekend has been really tough. My grandmother here went into the hospital on Friday because she wasn't eating, was unresponsive and couldn't talk. She also had shortness of breath. They sent her back to the nursing home after saying that she has pneumonia.

She still hasn't eaten anything and still can't talk. She can only groan. Poor thing. She is 95 and looks so frail now, I worry that this is going to be very difficult to overcome.

When we received the phone call last night at 11pm, my heart dropped and I thought something terrible had happened to her.....turns out it wasn't her, but it was my grandmother in Ireland....she passed away last night and I am heartbroken....my father is devastated and we are all in shock.

I have had this nagging feeling that I was going to lose my remaining 3 grandparents before the end of the year and before my wedding, and it scares me that this is happening now.

Thank you....I very much appreciate it. I feel awful because my father has to travel to Ireland by himself after all of this. My mother can't leave my grandmother in her state, so he has to go by himself and I feel so useless because there is nothing that I can do to help.

I feel so bad for him.....he asked my mother to book it for 10 days instead of 7 in case anything happens to my grandfather. He has that thought in the back of his mind....I wish I could help him.

If only a hug and kiss could cure all wounds!

Im so sorry for your loss!!! And Im sorry that your other grandmother isn't doing so well. Its so hard when they are at the point of taking it one day at a time. Its very sad!!

I'm so sorry hun. It's so hard I know. I only have my grandfather left and hes 94 and not doing so well. I know how you feel.

Okay, so I just heard what happened to my grandmother. There is a very severe stomach virus that is going around the hospital that she was being cared for in. She was too weak to beat it and now my grandfather has it as well.

The hospital is quarantined and my father won't even be able to go in there to see his father.

I feel like I am in some sort of nightmare. I am in total disbelief.

I am so sorry to hear that. My thoughts go out to you and your family.

Thank you!!! I guess when it rains it pours, right! God willing, my grandfather will be okay and my grandmother here will start eating again an regain some strength.
