sad news....

Hi I am sooo sad right now I could cry...
As most of you know my parents do not live in NY (they live in Oklahoma) I have my first fitting tomorrow and mom was suppose to arrive tonight and DID NOT... she got on the transfer flight in Chicago boarded took off and was brought back to Chicago... because there are no flights coming into JFK, Laguardia or Newark due to weather related conditions...so right now she is boarding on a plane back to oklahoma and my brother is trying to get her on a flight tomorrow morning to arrive in islip so she can make my appointment at 3:30 pm... but i just checked the flughts and it does not look good....

I am sooo sad.. plus my cousins baby shower is sunday and she might not make that either....

oh nooo.... but I BET she makes it here!! The storms will pass and she'll get here. And this is BETTER than flying in unsafe conditions!!! Fingers crossed for clear skies for your mommy!!!

Hey, mooshyboo, here's a site that will give you very accurate airport arrival/departure info - i use it all the time and its better than the bogus AIRLINE information:

Click on the arrival airport and it gives current ground delays, etc. NWK/lga/jfk are all experiencing delays now but perhaps this will help you keep track of things tomorrow!!

UPDATE: mom got on a southwest flight for 9:10 am but will not arrive until 4:00 pm so i am going to see if the dress shop can give me a later appt if not my mom is going to try to get there asap - my uncle will pick her up and bring her to the dress shop.. the kicker is she still has to transfer at chicago.... so who knows...

actually last night her flight from chicago was only 20 min away from jfk and they turned back because none of the local airports would land them due to lighting storms in the air...

I am just happy she is safe that is the most important!

Lets keep our fingers crossed and hopefully she will get here safe and sound!

Mom did not make it to my fitting but she made it to NY (we have my cousins baby shower tomorrow) she almost made the fitting but I did not need to much work done so It was painless and quick... I actually had a metal meltdown earlier in the afternoon... I was hysterical crying for like an hour+ I guess the stressses of our wedding and all the things this year are getting to me - I have not stopped since the first week of June - with baby showers, wedding showers, bday partys - I got ahold of myself finally - but felt like garbage all day long.... my aunt and grandma made it to the fitting - but in the whole process my FMIL wanted to go & guess what I was suppose to have her follow me & I forgot about her.... all that went on today I did not realize it until I was already at the bridal shop... she was looking so forward to it - I hope she is not mad at me! This was not a gooood day - but thank you for all your wishes for mom... and she is NY safe and sound!!!!

Sorry your mom didn't make it - but glad she made it to NY and that your aunt and grandma came with you and that the dress fit really well!!!!!! I'm sure your FMIL will forgive you!!!!!!!
