Sad News

FH is very close to his cousin, who is a reservist- he got called last week to go to Kuwait- he leaves August 8th and will be gone for a year.

He was going to be a groomsman in our wedding, but thats not the worst of it- his wife is expecting their first child

We are flying down to Florida at the end of July to spend time with him before he leaves- but its just so sad!

Aww I am sure they will give him time for when his child is born. Usally they let them come back for a few days or weeks. Sorry about that. I hope he stays safe over there!!

OMG that stinks!!!! I hate the military sometimes. They really do s u ck. FH was made to sign on 2 extra months-we would have had to move our wedding back a second time if they didn't give him leave (time off)

But I will keep your fh's cousin and his family in my thoughts. That is the worst when the wife is expecting. I have a friend who is due in August and her husband is in Iraq right now with FH.

But thankfully your fh;s cousin will be going to Kuwait. It is more of a middle ground and well not really a combat zone. But none the less it is still scary and he does not get to see the birth of his child or your wedding and that is horrible!!!!

I know he was in the Navy when he was full time- but am not sure if he switched? I know he was going to do MP or something like that? I'll have to ask

thank you! I know it is hard, and I couldn't even imagine being pregnant as well and having my husband leave. Hopefully his wife has a lot of family and friends around to support her during that time. She will make it through. And now your FH's cousin has something soooo wonderful to look forward to when he cmoes home- a new baby girl or boy!!!

I know the navy is over in kuwait. so it might be right.

but i was asking bec if he is in the army they actually do 15-18 month deployments but get to come home (if they choose) for 2 weeks on R&R. And i was going to say maybe depending on the time his child is born could come home for 2 weeks during that time.

i know the marines and navy don't do R&R they stay until they are done wherever they are. No coming home unless pretty much a family member dies. It is unfortunate

I'm so sorry - my friend's FH (well, now DH, they got married last week before he left!) who is a reservist is also being deployed. I know how hard it can be on friends / family.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and FH's family!
