Sad News... Very Sad...

Hey Chicas...
I went to the Doctor yesterday for a follow up (remember I was sick 2wks ago?...) So... they gave me my Results for Blood test... and...

=( =(

MY Cholesterol is 200 (which is borderline 125-200 normal)
My HDL Cholesterol (The good one) Is LOW 43 (has to be >46)
My LDL Cholesterol (The bad one) Is Good =) 97(Should <130)

My Triglycerides are Really Really High...
I have 300 (when it should be less than 150!!!!!)

I also have my Hemoglobin at 6%!!!! So Doctor said that is too risky because since i have my triglycerides and hemoglobin high, I can develop Diabetes =(

I am very sad now...
I am following a more 'Extreme' Diet now... But still, its sad for me =(

I think you should actually think of this as a good thing .... i mean, obviously it's not good that your numbers are bad ... but you DON'T have diabetes ... so look at this as a warning from G-d ... now you can prevent getting sick

well think of this. At least they caught it early. My friend is rail thin and has always been insanely diligent about what he eats and his levels are way worse than yours. He's on meds and they've majorly lowered his levels.

Hey, we want you with us a long time so follow up and see if they want to give you meds etc. :)

Don't worry about it so much though. It's amazing what medicine can do these days.

aww girl - it's all good. I have the same thing and my doc said I'm still so young that I can reverse it. Just change up your diet. It's a good thing - at least you found out while you were still young and 2 - a change in your diet lifestlye if so beneficial in many ways. dont be sad

Your age and the fact that you DON'T have it yet is definitely in your favor!

Just follow the doctor's orders on what you should be eating and keep an eye on it!

It seems like you girls have the right attitude about it but my advice is make sure you keep it that way. Stay focused on trying to reverse it. My sister didn't pay too much attention to it because she was still young and all that and then it develeoped into actualy diabetes!! So make sure you do whatever the doctor tells you because he tells you it for a reason. If you don't follow it you can still get diabetes even though your young, etc. Not to scare anyone but just a little warning.

this is good news in disguise! taje better care of yourself! this is your wake up call. a few years ago the doctor told me something similar and i started eating better (not dieting) and exercising.

now i'm back to normal.
it also helps to be healthy if you want to have kids soon and just to be healthier in general so you and your FH can live to be 100 together

i am sorry hun but as stated above, someone said it is good that you don't have diabetes and at least you know what you need to do now to stay healthy. i have known several people in my family who were in similar situations and followed the diet and did not have any more health problems. so stay focused!!

thank goodness you caught it early before you actually have diabetes. Its amazing what a good, healthy lifestyle can do. I always watch the biggest loser and some of these ppl are on at least 5 medications and within a few months of eating right and exercising, they're able to reverse their issues and get off medication! If you can improve your numbers naturally, there's no better way.
I know it must be scary for you, but there's a lot you can do to change it! Keep your head up and listen to your doctor!

I've had high cholesterol since I was 6, so obviously it is a hereditary thing. I'm not obese, and not really overweight either. I have a big butt, but that's about it!! Thanks for posting this, though, because you're giving me a bit of a wake up. I need to watch my diet and GET TO THE GYM!!!! Haven't gone in 3 weeks :(
