Sad Review/Our E-Party

Hey Girls! Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. This Sunday was our engagement party and I just needed to vent to somebody who might understand my disappointment.

First of all we rented a church basement for a few reasons. My fiance has 12 brothers and sisters and I have a bunch of little cousins and most of them don't even eat so paying per plate is really not worth it. My grandma wanted to cater my party and threatened that she wouldn't come if she didn't. And, I also wanted to decorate from top to bottom. Personalize everything, you know?

Anyway, my fiance's friend was our DJ and while he got all the music I told him too. I was so disappointed in him. He does this on the side and I really should have hired someone else to do it for us. I went home after the party and just cried and I so down about it.

This party took me so long to plan and so much work and I just don't feel satisfied. My fiance told me to calm down that everyone had a good time but I know they all didn't. Ugggghhhh....I am so upset about it.

In a way I am glad it is over but in another way I wish I still had time to change some things. No one understands this feeling like I am sure some of you do. I guess I should just be grateful in the end that we even had the chance to have one and that the people most important to us were there but I am just sooooooo disappointed.

its not worth to let it get you sad, think of it as a trial run for the wedding, fix the mistakes

So sorry to hear how upset you are....but at least it is the e-party and not the wedding. My e-party is in 2 weeks and I am getting nervous about it myself...but like you said, at least you got to celebrate with the people that mean most to you! Don't let it get you down, and remember if you are getting upset...we are ALWAYS here!!!

Are you maybe over analyzing it?? If everyone said they had a good time, I'm sure they did.

I just got engaged recently and my FMIL keeps asking when is the e-party. When do you ususally have one and is it worth it? I'm sure your party was great cause it's usually the people who make it!

His versions and equipment....it was just a mess.

I think you are overanalyzing it.

It to me sounds like you are more pissed off for other reasons... that the DJ chatted with people he knew (groom's buddies) rather than working... as compared to unmatched versions of music.

I might be overanalyzing the fact that the party bombed.

But the fact that he was chatting didn't bother me, the music was played. It just wasn't spunky enough. It wasn't what we wanted or our style really. The tables were close, he had no choice but to speak to people. As far as the grooms buddies go, I am steaming over the one who decided to sit next to him and make out with his girl the whole time, but I would have been upset over that if he did it anywhere else as well.

Lets make lemonade out of the lemons. At least you know now NOT to use that DJ (very unproffesional). You can also tell your GM that you hope he enjoyed sucking face with his girl but that you hope he will refrain from behaving like that at your reception. As bad as this sounds, Im glad it happened at your engagment party, then your wedding!!

PS - Im available on your wedding date to provide you with security/bouncer services if need be

I agree that you have a reason to be mad about the making out and such. But don't worry about people thinking it was abad time. I am sure they had a good time. Did someone say something to the contrary?
