Sad...need to be cheered up

Ok girls, Last night was my last night at my parents house. I am offically moving in w/ FI on Sat but since we have no schoolt omorrow, I will sleep at our place tonite and I always sleep there on Fridays so last night was it!!

My sadness comes bc I cant bring my beloved Luca w/ me!! My parents will keep him and my dad retires in a few mons so it is perfect for the dog. But that little boy means the WORLD to me. We sleep together every night and I cant imagine not sleeping w/ him again. I just love him and im so afraid that he will think i dont love him anymore

Awww sweetie...I would be sad if I had to leave my little guy behind too...but look at the bright side-you can always visit him and play with him and he will keep your parents happy

ETA: It'll take a little while but you will get used to it and so will he! The most important thing is that he has a safe home and good people to take care of him!

We will have to console each other

OMG I am dreading this when I move out of the 'rents house. I tried to convince my mom to let me have one of our cats, but to no avail (she loves them as much as me!) What a cutie your dog is - but I am sure he will be super excited when you visit! (and it will be nice for him when your father retires and can give him tons of attention!).

Oh no!! I totally understand what you mean and I'm so sorry for you! At least your dad will be there for him to love him and take good care of him, and you can visit him whenever you want! I'm so sorry!!

AWWW, I have come to realize that people that are attached to their animals are like parents to children. A long as there isa bond between thetwo they will never feel not loved. Believe me he knows you miss him as much as he misses you. I know b/c when I drop my kids off at school every morning my stomach drops, but when I come home after work they light up my life, and I know I do the same for them

Cheer up Sweety

Don't be sad Michele, this is supposed to be a joyous occaison!!!!!! You'll still get to see plenty of Luca and your dad will take good care of him while he's home. As for sleeping at night, you'll have Matt!! Cheer up!!!

Luca knows you love him. When I visit Garvey, he knows exactly who I am, and get really excited to see us! Moving in w/ Matt is going to be so GREAT - trust me!

Re: Sad...need to be cheered up

Michele,

I can totally relate. I got Dakota from the humane society in Michigan when she was 7 weeks old & then when I moved back home I took her with me (she was 2 years old), then I moved into my own apt. & it would have been really tight having Dakota there & she would be alone all day, so my parents are 'looking after her' for me. She still knows I'm her mom & my mom said anytime they say my name, her ears perk up & she wags her tail. When I go & see her, she knows I'm her mom & will actually take my commands over my dad/mom.

Luca knows you love her & you can visit anytime.

I now get Dakota whenever my parents go on vacation (FH loves her too & our apt. is bigger), but its still best for her to be w/ them as they are semi-retired & around all day & take her on long walks & car trips.

This is an exciting time......congrats & good luck!!!!

Awwww! I feel so sad for you! I don't think he'll think you don't love him anymore though. He'll just be super excited to see you when you go over to your parents house!

I am in tears from this. I can't even imagine ever having to leave my cats. Pets are so precious, they really do leave pawprints on our hearts. I know that it's hard to leave your parents and your puppy. It will be hard to adjust at first but soon you will love moving forward with your life. It always takes time to adjust to change. Keep your chin up

My cat is 17 and I slept with him every night since I was a kid. When FI and I move in together we have to leave hime with my parents. My fI is very allergic to cats.
I feel your pain.
