My DH and I are looking to book a last minute vacation to a warm, tropical place. I want to know which areas are safe/unsafe as far as hurricanes go. Thanks so much.
The places out of the hurricane belt, like Aruba, are also the more expensive places. FH and I have been in the Carribean the past two years during hurricane season and never had a problem (Jamaica last September and DR the previous August.) Yes it's a risk, but that why you can get the great deals. Look on travelzoo.com, they have the best last minute specials.
well, we came back from aruba two days ago and it was where we spent our honeymoon. we had thought about mexico and the keys, and had even booked one but changed our minds. considering that charlie did come and do damage, i'm glad we went to one of the ABC islands. we had the best time and no weather problems at all.
OK, this might sound like a dumb question, but what are the ABC islands?
sorry, aruba, bonaire and curacao. they are right near each other and not far from venezuela/argentina/columbia
Go to curacao...I have always wanted to go there. There is a hotel called Kura Hulanda that is supposed to be amazing.
