Sagamore Hill or other places that allow dogs

I e-mailed them at Sagamore Hill and they said dogs are allowed on the grounds but not in the house. Has anyone been there? Is it worth doing with a dog and just walking around, and not seeing the house? I hate leaving him home when we are off enjoying ourselves.

Last week we went on the ferry from Port Jeff's. We took him on the ride to CT and stayed on for the return trip without getting off. It was great but then I didn't want to come home and cook. We had a hard time finding someplace to eat. I thought places with outdoor tables allow dogs.

There have to be more pet-friendly places on LI. Scooby is a small Maltese. I don't like the dog runs in some parks that allow large dogs without leashes.

Please tell me where you take your dogs.
Thanks.

Bayville allows dogs to join there families to eat out side a restaurant called the 'Soundside'. It is across from the beach and what a beautiful sunset.
If you go to www.longisland.com and search for dog Parks a whole list comes up.

Happy Tail Wagging.
