Re: SAHM - It is really possible???
My husband makes good money, and it would still be impossible for me to stay home! I don't know how people do it....And we don't even own a house!

Im a SAHM. FH is self employed contractor. Some weeks are rough... wondering when the people he works for are going to pay him but thanks to some savings we dont ever go hungry. But when he does get a check WOO HOO!! CAVIAR here we come. J/k... I couldnt imagine having that on one income. He makes decent $$ to allow me to stay home. Im thankful for that.

Just curious what he does specifically? My husband is starting his business soon in tile...going today to get some paperwork done. Is he a sole propietor?
Feel free to PM me!

Re: SAHM - It is really possible???
Although I've heard that it's impossible without a 6 figure income, I know people that are SAHMs with their husbands making $60-$80K a year, and a few who get by on $50K or so. And then there are some who manage to scrape by on even less.
I don't think there's any hard figure that makes it possible or impossible. It all depends on the lifestyle you want and the things you're willing to give up in order to be home.

My DH makes decent money which is enabling me to be a SAHM - I only have 2 more weeks of work! But by no means are we rich - we are going to make it work and I am sure we'll be sacrficing a lot to make it happen. But I am willing to do so. It's a really touch decision.

You've said it right!!! You make the choice. What's important to you? If you want to still be able to have your shopping sprees & stuff like that then conitinue working. You make sacrifices. But, IMO they are easy to make.
