Salon Experience..

Salon Experience..

do you think the ambiance/vibe of a bridal salon can and will affect your decision making in buying a dress? i don't think that any salon can compare to my experience at bridal reflections in nyc and now I'm comparing all salons to it and questioning their alterations, experience, etc. Am i the only one that feels this way? Just because one salon is more glamorus does it make it better in their service? ughh!! hope this makes sense!

While I think you have to trust your instinct, I don't think that an upscale appearance is a guarantee. I ordered my gown from an upscale salon that had been in business for 20 years. Then it closed suddenly.

Is there a reason that you're not ordering from Bridal Reflections?

I found a dress I love there but it was my first time dress shopping..I didn't want to buy the first dress I liked on myself ..plus it was more than i was anticipating

i think youre experience somwhere has a lot to do with it!! you spend a lot of time there with fitting and everything and you need to be comfortable and confident in the staff

honestly i agree- it can. i had the opposite experience -i went to the crazy busy salons first and then the beautiful tranquil place last. i had tried a pronovias dress in one salon but the saleslady was kinda mean so we decided to sleep on it.

all the salons i visted were during the weekends, so they were all MADHOUSES. it was like each place was at a high pitch the whole time.

then i went to the designer's salon in the city on a friday afternoon and it was so relaxing! that is where i ended up buying the dress.

i bought my dress at the wedding salon of manhasset and the service was IMPECCABLE! i found my dress but i was alone and my mom was able to come the next day (black friday) but they were closed.... well my consultant came in and opened the shop especially for me!!!!!!!!!! i was sure that they would do an amazing job on my fittings and i had an awesome experience with her

Atmosphere ABSOLUTELY makes a difference. I yesterday bought my dress (!!), an Alvina Valenta from Wedding Salon of Manhasset, where the service was platinum. I felt 150% confident in their knowledge about alterations, etc. I was truly blown away! Once I put on 'the one', I knew it right away.

I started out at Village Bridal: my mother actually had to help me into each of the dresses, and it was just a tiring experience that took away from the wow factor. They could only 'ballpark' alteration costs when I inquired.

Lilette's was very helpful and treated me well, though the place was a little rundown. Their dresses were mostly polyester blends, and didn't have the same attention to detail and finishings that the more expensive dresses had. But I wouldn't hesitate to buy something there based on service/knowledge.

Wedding Salon of Manhasset has Pronovias, the JLM Group, Rivini, Amsale. Check out their website. They were able to accommodate my $3,000 budget.

Go with where you feel comfortable - this is where gut matters!

I do think that the salon has somthing to do with the buying experience. However I did not like the experience that I had with all 3 Bridal Reflections. I also dont like it when there is 1000 people all around either. Try to go on an off time this way there wont be that many people and the saleswoman can devote more time to you.
