Sorry to crash your board girls, but I figured who knows better than you girls who've been there done that. I don't know whether I should do a bunch of trials with salons or at home vendors. I have 9 girls for make-up and 7 for hair plus two little girls for both. I know that's a lot and thought is it too much for my house?!?!? Let me know what you girls think. Thanks for your expertise, Ryan

Re: salon vs. at home?!?!
I went to my salon and they had extra girls on hand to do my BM hair while one person worked steadily on mine.
We were there from 6:15am to 8am.

Re: salon vs. at home?!?!
I think it depends on your time frame. If you can go to the salon, it might be a little cheaper. But it is nice to relax at home and have them come to you - you're not stressing about what time it is and will you be there when the photographer comes and all that kind of stuff.

Re: salon vs. at home?!?!
I went to the salon for hair to just get out of the house & away from the hustle & bustle of things going on in my mom's house.
My makeup person came to me & that was the best!

Re: salon vs. at home?!?!
I went to the salon for hair and make up and I am glad I did. It was good to have everyone done around the same time and to have a little extra time to sleep in that morning.

Re: salon vs. at home?!?!
I originally planned on going into the salon to get it done, but because my non-natural straight hair doesn't survive in the heat, I opt to stay home and have my hairstylist come to my mom's house!

Re: salon vs. at home?!?!
I had everything done at home for me & the girls. However, there were only 4 of us getting done. If I had as many girls as you do, I think I would have opted for the salon.

Re: salon vs. at home?!?!
I had the same number of girls getting ready for my big day and my mass was at 10:30am. Needless to say we had to be up early. We had the hair and makeup girls come to us and it was the best decision I made. It was relaxing to be in my own home surrounded by my closest girls. My dad and brother stayed in a hotel and came after we were all done because they didn't want to be involved in the chaos. But it wasn't chaotic at all...we were done in record time, and I loved getting ready in my own house. As a side note, we had 3 girls doing hair and 1 doing makeup.
HTH!

Re: salon vs. at home?!?!
i had both done at the salon. it was the best choice for me. i had all my girls with me and when they were done, they went back to my parents house. we started at 9 and we were all done and home by 12:45, i had 4 bm's and my mom.

Re: salon vs. at home?!?!
I got married at 12:30pm.
There was no way I could have run/drive around with mom, sister, MOH and me getting ready at a salon.
I had enough to think about than going from one place to another do get my hair and MU done.

Re: salon vs. at home?!?!
Agree with Lauren on it depends upon how much time you have to get ready. I had 12 BMs plus mom. We went to the salon for hair (three stylists worked on us), and then home for make up. Some got their make up done at the salon, others used the make up artist at the house, some had no professional at all. Anyway, it was nice to get out of the house for a bit, and just come back to make up. HTH!

Re: salon vs. at home?!?!
i had my hair done where i got ready, at my sisters house! my hair stylist did me and my moh and my FG and my makeup artist did my jr bm (she is also a hair stylist). honestly, i envisioned my girls all getting ready with me, but 4 of them opted to go to the lemon tree to get their hair done to save $$$. you can have 9 girls get their hair done with you if you have 3 stylists. whoever you book your hair for would have people to bring with her to help the other girls. first, i would make sure they are all ok with having to go where you decide. some might prefer their own stylist or some place less expensive.

Re: salon vs. at home?!?!
I had my trials done at the salon but then the day of the girl came to my house and did my hair at my house. I loved doing it this way.
My friend had all of us get our hair done at the same salon and we all went to the salon to get it done. That was a lot of fun!!!!
If you are all going together than I suggest going to the salon. But if you are the only one getting it done then have someone go to your house.
