SALUTI D'ITALIA!!
CIAO, all!! Just sending a quick hello from Rome, the second stop on my HUSBAND (!!)'s and my honeymoon journey, which, so far, has been just wonderful, a fabulous followup to an absolutely PERFECT wedding a week ago Sunday (review to follow upon my arrival back in the US!)
Our first four days were spent exploring the incredible Amalfi Coast from our beautiful home base in gorgeous Positano. Our hotel room had a balcony with the most breathtaking view of the town and the Mediterranean and we spent our time enjoying the scenery and visiting the neighboring towns of Amalfi, Ravello, Sorrento, and the island of Capri. Of course, we also had some fabulous meals...the pasta in America can't hold a candle to Italy's!...and we found a great little place to eat up in the hills of Montepertuso, where we went twice and had the best meals of our trip so far (and an incredible bottle of wine for only 13 euros!! We LOVE Italy!! :)). I even managed to run into a college friend who were also on his honeymoon (they were married the day before us!) and we enjoyed a lovely dinner together one night.
The past three days we've been in Rome where it's been very HOT (as expected) but where we are having fun taking in all the famous sights...and, of course, eating more great food!! We're actually on our way now to dinner so I'm going to sign off here.
I probably won't be checking again until my return to the US next week so until then...
Amore a tutti!! (Love to all!!)
