Would any of you be offended if a family member (or friend) got married at the same location that you did--even if it was years later??
I know there are a zillion places on LI to get married, but many are out of my price range.
FSIL got married at Fox Hollow in 2002--before I met FH. Even though I love the exterior, do you think I should cross it off my list??

I wouldn't cross it off. Pick a place that you are happy with.
I'm not choosing halls my family members (and close friends) got married in but it's more for the reason I want something different.. a place they haven't been to before.
Example is that I know 2 or 3 friends & family members who got married at Westbury Manor, I don't want to be 'that other one that got married there'.

A friend of mine may be getting married 2 months before me at the same place. I've already booked, they are still looking. At first I was like hmmmmmm but then I thought about it and realized at least I'd be able to see an actual wedding before mine to make sure mine was perfect.

FH and I were looking into Timberpoint Country Club, and his sister got married there. She didnt care at all that we were looking into it. I dont think that it should matter. But some people will. So whatever you want to do, do it. Its YOUR big day who cares!

I think since they already had their wedding...it really shouldnt matter. They should be flattered you like the same place

i would look at fox hollow because my brother got married there last sept. i didn't want to do the same thing.
but if it was a long time ago, then i say go for it, it's your day.

I wouldn't. It was so long ago and everyone wedding can be different. You'll have different food (places alwayc change their menus), CPs, linens, etc. I would def. look into it even if someone else had it there and I love the place

I personally wouldnt be offended I actually would think it was really nice that a friend or family member wanted to get married where I did. I feel like they had such a great time at mine that they want theirs to be the same

I agree, do what makes you happy. Plus they can see how much it changes since their wedding.

I don't think you should feel weird your wedding will be different!!!!(that's if you really love this place) FH's brother got married at Chateau Briand...lovely place but it was his choice not to get married there because he didn't want to get married at the same place his brother did. I personally didn't mind. Is Fox Hollow the place for you??? have you checked Chateau Briand they have similar price. Also try Jericho Terrace If someone came to me and say that they are getting married at the same place i was I will feel soo complemented i wouldn't mind at all

Dont cross it off at all! In 2010 that will have been 8 years ago! If you think she might be bothered by it, maybe ask her ahead of time or have your FH talk to her?
