Sample Sale Dresses

I still have 11 mos to my wedding. I am going to a sample sale tomorrow and if I buy a dress, I get to take it home w/me. Granted it may still need alterations, but how do you preserve the dress in those 11 mos?

Hang it in a closet in a bag... Seriously... I have had my dress for over 2 yrs it hung in a bag in the closet. When we set the date I brought it out and took it to a seamstress and said ok this is what I want to do to it and it became a completely different dress

The reason I bought it over 2 yrs ago is well I got it on clearance for $5 couldn't beat it even if I didn't use it I figured I would just sell it on Ebay.

I tried on 20 something dresses and went back to the one in my closet....

Ps there was nothing wrong with it no dust no discoloration...

i got mine from a sample sale. its being stored at the place that's doing my alterations (for free). i think they are just storing it in a bag.

when i had mine at home...i had it wrapped in a cotton sheet and then in the bag but i would think u can just store it in a garment bag...if it's heavy...u might consider just lying it flat in the bag so it doesnt weigh down the dress and stuff...but that's just a thought.

No advice, sorry. Just a question. Where's the sample sale? Where do you hear about these? I still need a dress.

It's at Mark Ingram Wedding Atelier in the city. I read about it on another board. I got a Kleinfeld sample sale notice from theknot. I stumbled across one at a small bridal shop in Westchester.
