Sample sale/Off-the-rack-dress

What are your experiences with sample sales?

I have about a 2 month attention span. after that, I either don't like it anymore or it doesn't fit anymore or I see something I like better.

Just wondering b/c I doubt I'd like my dress after a whole year.

alterations are no problem, I'll keep em up working all night if I have to

Went to the Saks Sample Sale a few weeks ago and the dresses were in great condition and it was totally nutty. The sales ladies were extremely helpful and the prices were phenomenal. I was tempted to buy something then but was newly engaged and wanted to have the experience of trying on dresses @ kleinfeld!
Saks has the sample sale twice a year and I highly suggest you check it out! I think their next one is in December.

my sister got her dress at a bergdorff goodman sample sale. it was a $5000 dress and it was marked at $900. her friend talked them down to $500. Her dress got cleaned and altered and looked amazing!
Topbutton.com lists sample sales and includes ones for wedding dresses.
