I've heard alot about sample sales and general sales for wedding gowns....does anyone know how to find out about these?

check out NYSALE.com. They have a full listing and you can sign up for their email updates. You can also call the different salons and ask them when their sales are. Good luck!

Do you know whether these places are overly crowded during their trunk shows? Do you need to make appointments or just show up the day of?

I can't speak for other bridal salons, but for Kleinfeld's, whether it's a non-sale, sample sale, or trunk show, you need an appointment. If you go on a weekend, I would suggest getting an early appointment - you will have more of a selection if it's a sample sale, the salesladies are not worn out from a long day, and the appointment times are not badly delayed.

I only know about the Kleinfeld's sample sales. I called them up and asked them about it. You need to make an appointment with them. When I make my appointment for their November one, I'm going to try to get the first one. I can only go there if there's a sale, their regular prices are just too expensive for me.

I just got information about 3 this week:
