I'm not a Sand Castle Bride (although my sister got married there and it was fantastic!!) am i slow on the uptake or did everyone know that it's switching from a 2 weddings at once hall to being one wedding at once and that they are doing cosmetic changes? I went with my friend to go look at it for her wedding and the guy (tom i believe) took us around and told us all of the changes they are making.
Do you know when they are starting these changes? I didn't know this...

It was going to be finished well before my friends wedding (she's getting married Feb 2009). From what i understood it was starting either this winter or november of this year. Definitely call and find out. They are changing most of the mirrors in the entrance way to wood panelling. From what i saw it is going to look fantastic. Just thought id give everyone the heads up
They haven't mentioned anything about the renovations, but I did hear things on liweddings about them going from a 2 wedding to 1 wedding place. I'm getting married there in November of this year, so I hope the renovations are either finished before that, or start after that. Anyone who talks to the SC about this, let me know what their renovations plans are! Thanks!!!
I actually called them today and they told me that they are replacing the mirrors in the entrance way with wood right now. They are supposed to be doing renovations in the cocktail hour room sometime this year. If anyone has heard differently please let all of us Sand Castle brides know
They are doing renovations in the cocktail hr room. You should really go there and talk with tom about it. He explained everything to us in detail what they are doing when she looked at the place. The main renovations are happening in the cocktail hr room, and the entry area, oh and the downstairs cocktail hr room is turning into a hospitality room. They are also changing all of the linens, chair covers and china. I would make an appointment with Tom so you can see what it will look like in advance.
the changes are happening for 2009 like the cocktail room and vip room overall it is staying the same layout for 2008. its getting a face lift nothing crazy so dont worry 08 brides it is gonna look prettier.

When we checked it out a few months ago, they told us the upstairs room is going to be the new cockail room and they will only have one wedding at a time now.

It's going to look gorgeous!
The reason i suggested going there is so you can really see the linens cause it may affect your flowers or color scheme slightly because the table linens are a richer ivory with a goldish tint. They are gorgeous though. Look much brighter and crisper.
From what i understand it's already under construction. So it should be done by then. Call the person you booked thru and they can help you better than i can.

of course! from what i hear they are trying to make it more of a high end hall with prices that will eventually be starting at close to $200 a head. If it's even possible, what they're doing now sounds like the place is going to be even prettier, like i said, if that's even possible. It's beautiful!
OMG $200 a head!!!! Craziness. Thank God I booked beforehand and already love the place the way it is, haha!
