Sand Castle Brides! Or brides at '1 wedding at a time' venues

This questions is for my fellow SC brides but also applies to brides that are getting married in 'one wedding at a time' venues. Do you feel that a DOC is necessary since we have the bridal assistants that come with the venue? I'm still on the fence with it because I'm not sure if there is room in the budget. What is the advantage of having a DOC if you already have bridal assistants that come with the venue?

Thoughts?

I think that depends on your personal preference. For me personally, I think it is a waste of money. However, I know of a few girls that used one and raved about it! I'm getting married at Floral Terrace which is run by the same people as Sand Castle and I've heard nothing but great things about both places. Hope that helps!

Yea I don't know if its worth investing. I just noticed a lot of bridal reviews included a separate DOC and that had me wondering.

my feeling is that it is (kinda) feasible if your venue is not one wedding at a time, because I would be a little nervous about not getting the attention I would need from the banquet managers... SC, like my venue, is one wedding at a time and everyone that works there is only working for your wedding on that day and I feel like a DOC isn't needed because of that

I am getting married at Sand Castle this year and will not have a DOC. My rep at Sand Castle told me that will be needed since she will be there, as well as the Maitre D and my attendants. I spoke with a friend of mine who manages weddings at a hotel and she agreed that in this instance I wouldn't need a DOC. At Sand Castle, everyone is very attentive and it is their job to keep everyone running on time and smoothly so I feel comfortable not having a DOC. Hope this helps!

I'm having my reception at the Sand Castle and I do have a DOC mainly because they will help with confirm with vendors the week of the wedding and they will be the contact person if anything should go wrong. I don't want to be stressed out the week before my wedding or the day of. They will also be at the church for my ceremony to make sure everything runs smoothly there

I got married at the Inn at NHP (also 1 wedding at a time) and used AMDA. My bridal attendants were awesome, but they weren't at my house to get me in my dress, help my dad with his tie and bout, check my bouquets or any of the other things that happened before I even got in the limo. It was also nice to have someone I kind of knew already to go to for certain things. They also gave out all the tips and packed everything up at the end of the night. I thought they were worth every penny and then some.

I got married at Thatched Cottage (1 wedding at a time) and had Laura from AMDA as my DOC. She was so completely worth having! Everyone at Thatched Cottage was great, but Laura was with me from beginning to end (planning until the very end of the wedding). She handed out the tips and final payments, as well as dealt with some little bumps that came about. The bridal attendant works for the RH, but the DOC works for YOU.

I'm getting married at Flowerfield which is one wedding at a time and not getting a DOC. They were phenomenal when my brother got married there and runlike a well oiled machine so I'm not worried. I also am such a planner so between myself, FH, my mom and 7 BMs I think I'll be fine.

We had a DOC for my sister's wedding. We got dressed in a hotel before and took pictures there. The DOC kept us on time We wouldn't of had a clue as to what time to leave hotel since church was not close to the hotel. She helped us in church and kept the bride calm.

When we got to the venue, she oversaw everything and made sure everything was to my Sister's specifications. The wedding cake had a crack in it and they handle that problem. They handle all the tips. We were so thankful to have them! Yes, the bridal attendant was there to get us our food during the cocktail hour. MOB had dress issued and the DOCs even helped with that.

I know I am going to use a DOC even with the bridal attendant.

I got married at Bridgeview which is one event at a time. Everyone in the building was there for my wedding. I did not have a DOC and did not feel like I needed one. The maitre'd and the bridal attendant took care of everything for me.

I asked my dad to hand out the tips (labeled them in envelopes for him). If anything went wrong, I did not know about it.

I'm thinking the same thing. Good to know!
