Sand Castle, Fox Hollow, or Woodbury Country Club???
So FH and I have visited all 3 places and MORE, and have narrowed them down to these 3..price wise Fox Hollow and WCC are best for a Saturday evening reception, but FH says SC is # 1 for him, but for a Sat evening its most expensive and they dont budge with price AND they have a minimum of 200 ppl, which right now our guest list has 185 adults invited, and thats pretty much it. Im torn bc SC has that David Tutera-esque ballroom that I always imagined of, and they offer plenty of food, more hours for CH and reception (7 hrs),unedited video during RH,and indoor and outdoor CH option, the negatives are really the outside location (I wanted more curb appeal when you approach the place), price, and if I choose SC, we will have no choice but to have a Fri evening reception which I'm not too thrilled about bc I think more ppl have off on a Sun so they will be more apt to stay later on a Sat to have a good time...Fox Hollow was nice also, they even offer a hotel stay the night of wedding, the BM was really nice, they offer plenty of food, beautiful and plenty of garden area for pictures, but BM placed me in Garden Terrace room which I could only peek in when I visited and from my peek the dance floor seemed a bit narrow and overall I'm not sure if the Old World feel fits me although I thought it was cozy and romantic. My ideal place was modern, elegant, romantic...If I picked Fox Hollow, I would most likely want the new Somerley room but the only negative I saw was the dancefloor being in the back of the room and there being no outdoor CH option, ugh! WCC was nice but I think its more for an outdoor wedding. I really liked the outside area of the downstairs room, DEFINITELY fits the vibe Im looking for (lounge chairs etc, PURE Miami feel, wanted to give my guests a feel of both laid back with the outside area and elegant in the ballroom) but if the weather is bad, thats out the window. I was looking for a place that had a beautiful outside area and beautidul inside as well and WCC is just ok inside to me, plus we have to spend extra thousands on decor (linens, flowers, plates, flatware, etc) with their events team so thats another downside :(...I think all 3 of these places are different in their own way, but I need help deciding...what do you guys think???

Did you check out Chateau Briand? You mentioned Miami feel and CB definitely would fit that.

I went to see SC and FH when I was looking and SC was my second choice. I liked Fox Hollow but then one of FH's friends said his wedding a lot of his guests didnt have chairs in the cocktail room and they had 220 ppl, so I was nervous considering over lists is at 235 right now. But other than that his friend had no compliants. What I really liked at SC was the Viennaise Hour (if you are having that) because they said they could move it outside the room rather than on the dance floor which most places do. I want the wedding to never stop so I didn't like the idea of VH on dancefloor. I also fell in love with SC Bridal Suite because many halls I saw discouraged me from going in the Suite and kept saying 'You should be at your cocktail hour' but I don't want to be. I honestly don't know much about WCC.

*Sigh* The problem is CB is my dream venue...BUT my brother had his wedding there last year and I want to bring my family somewhere different...FH brought up the idea of having it in a different room, and 'maybe' that will make it different but with our minimum, they are offering us the same room my brother had WITH the surprise entrance...*SIGHHHH*** lol...if he never chose this place, my venue wouldve been booked the day after FH proposed! I def thought I would find another place like it or close to it in Nassau, LI, but 10 places later and nothing...so now I'm moving to plan B...

I totally agree with you on SC's bridal suite!! Of all the RH that I visited, they def had the nicest and best size bridal suite (besides Chateau Briand)..This was very important to me bc I most probably wont atend my CH as I will most likely use that time to eat, then take pictures before the reception..also the BM mentioned they put the VH around the dancefloor and this supposedly doesnt stop the dancing which in my opinion does bc ppl get distracted, I would prefer it to be outside of the ballroom, but the only place I see best would be where CH is, but I doubt ppl will leave the ballroom to go upstairs for VH...I would be highly surprised..you mentioned SC was your 2nd choice, I'm curious...what was your first?

The BM Dena from SC said if the bride really wants they will bring the VH outside the room and down the hallway where the BM offices are. My first choice was Russo's On The Bay.

At CB, were there things you thought 'hmn.. I might just change this if I got married here....' or centerpieces you thought would look just gorgeous! If you go into a different room, it would be different and you would still get the Miami feel. IMO, your family might be honored you loved the place so much.

Russo's is really nice actually, def have what I'm looking for inside, but theyre just as expensive as SC I believe, but SC offers a little more for the price so I would pick SC if I had to choose...

I mean our colors are different, and I would def have diff centerpeices and different bouquets for me and my bridesmaids...I think the main thing would be the same room they had, I loved it bc it had a surprise entrance...having my reception there is somewhat like stealing their style or something to that effect...ugh who knew thins would be this technical!

Don't you get a free honeymoon with Sand Castle! That would be a no-brainer if you're torn between three!
