FH and I are looking into going to one of the Sandals resorts for our honeymoon. I was wondering if any of you girls have gone and could give me feedback, positive or negative. We are looking at possible Ocho Rios in Jamaica but if you went to another one thats fine too. TIA!

Re: Sandals
We went to Ocho Rios!!!!! It was AMAZING!!!!
Don't go to Sandals Dunns River in Jamaica - there is no beach. It's literally 15 ft from the hotel to the ocean. No room at all.
At Ocho Rios (we went in Feb 05) there was some construction being done but it didn't really affect our stay.
They have great restaurants and fun things to do. At the beach bar, if Basil is still there ask for the Basil Special. It's just a mudslide with banana liquor but it's DELISH!
Um, it was GREAT, GREAT, GREAT! And one of the most affordable Sandals. Also, if you do an excursion to the falls, bring those water shoes otherwise they give you ones they have (too skeevy for me).
Oh man, it was so awesome! I LOVED it there!!!
ETA: They also do intimate dinners for two right on the beach (it's extra) but worth it! They even take pics of you (that you can buy of course)! I recommend doing that too!!! OH, and you can get a couples massage in a beach hut at night!!! So romantic. I loved Sandals!!!

I was thinking the same thing...I didnt stay at sandals but when i went to the bahamas, i can see sandals from where we were. They had their own private section, which sounds nice but their beach was so tiny and honestly didn't like it all. I even passed by it when jet skiing and i would've hated to have that beach. I guess it depends which sandals you go to.

I would love to go there too, but the airport is about 1.5 hours away from the resort. We are thinking of a Sandals too, but I wasn't to sure about Jamaica b/c you can't really leave the resort. I'm glad someone mentioned the beach in the Bahamas b/c I was thinking of that one too. What about Antigua?

I went to Ochos Rios and honestly, I didn't like it one bit. I thought the natives were the rudy and pushy (I really an just giving my opinion, I don't want to offend anyone.) I would check out the one in St Lucia, and I thought the Bahamas was incredible (although I didn't stay at Sandals). GL!!!!

One of my co-workers went to St. Lucia for her HM and they stayed at one of the Sandals resorts and they loved it! She said there are three Sandals resorts in St. Lucia and the best one is the Grand.

How is the beach in the Bahamas? Did you leave the resort at all?

Aruba doesnt have a sandals
if it did i would definitely go there!!! we LOVED aruba but we definitely didnt go the 'luxury' route when we went ( it was our very first vacation together when i turned 18) so i want to go all luxury this time around!
