Hey 07er we need your help. Has anyone been to the sandals resort in Antigua or any of the sandals resorts in St Lucia? Any feedback would be helpful.

Re: Sandals
We went to Sandals Antigua, stayed at the Mediterranean Village.
It was nice, but we were not crazy about it. Too many things went wrong and the service was terrible. Not a good thing when even the GM of the property admits that to a guest.
Others had great times, this was my experience and I will never book a Sandals anywhere.

I just got back on Sunday from Sandals st. Lucia grande. It was beautiful. I recommend if you go to either fly into the small airport or take the helicoptor ride. It is an hour and half drive if not longer and I was nauseus the whole ride. Good Luck

Re: Sandals
We stayed at the Halcyon Resort which was perfect for what we wanted on our HM- small resort with lots of gardens and views of the ocean! It is the oldest resort so you won't really find updated rooms- although nice, they aren't too flashy.
We visited the other resorts on the island we absolutely loved the Regency. We thought if we went back we would stay there next time. It's a lot larger than where we were- you need to shuttle up to a few restaurants, but beautiful!
It depends on what you are looking for- but you can't go wrong with St. Lucia and Sandals!
I have pictures in my profile too of the resorts- so take a look!
Have fun booking!!!

Re: Sandals
I went to Sandals Regency for my honeymoon. I thought it was just okay. I have heard good things about the Grande. My friend stayed there and liked it a lot. The best thing about the Regency is that it is pretty spread out, so you can find peace and quiet if you are looking for it.
If you want to try something different, for the first part of our honeymoon, my husband and I stayed in Soufreire at Crystals. It was very different and special, and the people that own the resort are lovely and lots of fun!

It is the newest & nicest of the resorts on St. Lucia according to our TA.
ETA: We planned on visiting the other resorts while we were there (Sandals has a shuttle that brings you to the others, you can use all the amenities at the other resorts) ... but I was having a rough time with my back so we decided it was better for us not to travel. But when booking the trip, we thought it was more important to us that we stay at the most recently updated of the resorts.

We went to Sandals Antigua..I agree with first poster. It was our HM so we def made the most of it..but I do not know if I would go to another Sandals. We stayed at Excellence resorts previously, and they were MUCH better! The island of Antigua is incredible, though!! Pics in album!

We went to Sandals Grande St. Lucian.... Beautiful island! we had a great time during the day, great service, beautiful room and view but we were not satisfided. The restaurants were eh and we were bored at night. No night life. IMO. But it served its purpose fr sure! So relaxing!

Re: Sandals
We stayed at the Regency up in the bluff suit and the place is just incredible. There is just no comparing this resort to the other two, as the Regency is a bit more upscale or actually I should say more private & very unique. The Grande was also very beautiful and the Halcyon was very run down. Only downfall is that the food in all three were not that great. My husband was very disappointed in all of the restaurants but one, I got by with the food but thought, especially for the money we paid it should have been a lot better thats for sure, everything else was perfect

We stayed at the Grande and had a great time. There is not much to do ay night but they try to make it fun with entertainment. We visited the other resorts to eat but were so glad that we stayed at the Grande.

I second that, I went to Antigua as well and would never go back.

Re: Sandals
Just got back from the grande, and I have to say... we were pretty disapointed! We're not picky people, and maybe if we had a butler suite we would have loved it... but the food was really not very good, there wasn't much to do, and the island (in our opinion) was pretty slummy when you left the resort! The Pitons were gorgeous though. I wouldn't go to another Sandals again based on our experience, just didn't get our money's worth... JMO
