Hay anyone been to Sandals Antigua for their honeymoon? Was it nice? FH and I are thinking about going there bc we want a nice relaxing spot. Any suggestions??? Thanks!

Antigua is rated like the most romantic spot with the best beaches I believe. FH and I just booked our honeymoon for St.Lucia but Antigua was our second choice...it was just a little more expensive then St.Lucia. From what I have heard Antigua is amazing and you will love every bit of it.

FH and I originally wanted to do Sandals Antigua but we were told by another couple that we shouldnt do it. I had always heard nice things about it before but this couple (who we met on a cruise) told us that they went there on their HM 2 years ago and it was nothing like the pics. They told us that the place had poor service and that it was nothing like they had imagined. Then when we went to meet with our travel agent-she said she had been told some pretty bad things about Sandala Antigua also.
Who knows how accurate they were or if they really knew what they were talking about but that scared us enough to look into other sandals resorts.... So we ended up booking St Lucia.

You should post this question on the 006 and 07 boards.....us 08'ers haven't gone on a HM yet....I'm sure that a regular trip there would be different than a HM.

Sandals does not own their beach in ANtigua so it is a public beach. When all the cruise ships dock they let teh passengers off right near the sandals beach and they are free to roam. That is what the travel agent told us so we opted against Sandals Antigua.

this is true. we went on a cruise last year and when we stopped at antigua we went to the beach and it was actually part of sandals! Antigua is gorgeous but the beach can get a lil crowded from all the cruisers

Great idea! I agree.... I'm giving my opinion based on what others have told me- I've never been there and I have no clue how accurate the people were that told us negative things. Check out those boards-a lot of those girls may have done that for their HM and know more than we do.
