Hey guyz!! Been a while, We postponed out HM cause of some family health issues & now it's finally here, 8 days away, yayayyyyy!! We are staying in Ocho Rio Jamaica sandals, splurged for the butler. I know the resort is safe, but everyone keeps worrying us saying Jamaica isn't safe. We will get robbed or worse. And don't do any excursion or go to straw market etc, Anyone have experience there? Any tips? I fully reviewed it prior and I wasn't worried i understand its a different country & to be alert at all times but all these people in hubby ear has him worried now. Love to hear about anyone else's exp. thanks!!!!!

My future sister in law was just there in march with her sister and their husbands and they said it was amazing and can't wait to go back...they did a few excursions like to dunns river falls and said the only place that was sketchy was the airport...very typical for Jamaica any year!

We went there right after our wedding. We had such a great time. Yes when leaving the resort you have to be alert but all the excursion we did were safe. All the staff at the excursion were friendly (of course they all did it for tips). We did Dunn's River Falls which was amazing and the zip lining and bob sledding which was a lot of fun also. Any specific questions feel free to ask.

Thanks! Exactly what I thought. Where did you book your excursions??? I would love to do the zip lining. Lol, people said the natives would kidnap us while zip lining -- I hate stupid people!!!!

I went to Montego a few years ago and I felt safe the whole time. All excursions are safe. If you want to venture out do it during the day. If in doubt, ask the hotel about recommendations and safety. I don't recommend wearing your e-ring (more for sand n water sports). If it makes your hubby feel safer, lock you bands up in the safe when you leave the resort.

I went to Montego Bay twice last year stayed at the rui and everything was fine we had no problems. Just be aware if u go off site but u can still go on excursions I wouldn't worry

I wouldn't worry. I haven't been to Jamaica but everyone says the same thing about Mexico and I've been there on 3 separate occasions and have had awesome trips and felt safe. I am sure it's the same in Jamaica. Just be smart and don't go wandering off on you own. Have a great HM!
