Re: Sandals Grande St Lucia or Golf and Spa??

I just went to Gulf and Spa...I we took the little bus to Grande one night for dinner...
Gulf and Spa is suppose to be much more about luxury, the rooms are far apart from each and they have I think more a selection of different types of rooms where Grande it seemed all rooms were in one building...Gulf and Spa has a bunch of villas which are more secluded and seperated from the main house...I think that's the main difference.
Grande is nicer in terms of everything looking new.
I have to say that one of the best dinners I had was at Grande too and the second best was at the Halcyon...so I didn't think the restaurants at Gulf and Spa where as good as the other two resorts.

Anyway I have to say we had a great time but Gulf and Spa has no nightlife what so ever by 10:00 - 10:30 the place is dead...Grande didn't seem like it was that much more exciting at night but possibly a little more if anything the one that seemed like it had somewhat of a good nightlife was the Halcyon.
If you have any other questions just let me know.

Hope that helps.

I went to the Golf & Sap, and I have to disagree with Cippyloo about the nightlife. We had so much to do. Maybe it was the time of year that you went, but there was ALWAYS something to do at night.
We ventured over to the Halcyon, and didnt care for that. It was very small, and there was no one there. We like to migle with others, as well as spend time by ourselves, which is waht we did a few nights.
I have a great time there. I havent been to the other one, because it wasnt open yet. If you stay at one, you can play at the other.

DH and I said the same thing it must be the time of year...cause I heard from so many brides about what a great time they had....not that we didn't we had a blast, we just didn't find many people out and about after 11:00...it was always just us and few other couples.
So we do think the slow night life could have a lot to do with the time of year or perhaps even the crowd that was staying there at the same time we were might just have happened to be primarily a mellow group.

We booked the Regency... (golf & spa) it looked bigger & had more water stuff to do. The rooms also looked a little newer.... but this is just from what we saw online, so really, who knows

I agree with Diane... I thought there was definitely more night life at Golf Resort and Spa, although it wasn't overly crazy. By 12 -12:30 everyone was gone but we were up early doing stuff anyway. I liked the Golf Resort and Spa better than Halycon. The new one wasn't open yet, so I really can't say about that.

Go to the GRANDE!!!!!!!!!!!! We were just there in April. It is brand new and amazing. I visited the golf and spa, and I was so happy to return to the grande. Both are nice, but there is an elegance about the grande, it is more wide open, and it is just stunning! Less people there to bother you, the beach is private and you can even take naps there without being bothered by locals. This is just my opinion, but I cant wait to go back to the grande. If you do a search you can see my honeymoon pics, look at how lovely the grande is!!!

Edited to say that the water sports are better at the grande as well because they have a bay not ocean to do the sports in. It is safer, so they provide more sports and more equipment. My husband did something new each day!
