Sandals Halcyon Beach St. Lucia

Sandals Halcyon Beach St. Lucia

Does anybody know anything about this resort? It seems a little more secluded and intimate, which FH and I like, but that means it's harder to find anybody who's been there.

Anyone have any information for us?

TIA

We are staying at La Toc, and did a little research on the other two resorts before picking La Toc. I don't know too much about Halcyon, but this is what I do know

1. La Toc and Grande St. Lucian are the two more popular ones of the 3 in St. Lucia because Halcyon is the oldest of the three

2. Halcyon is right next to a main road, and alot of the rooms face the road which I read some people didn't like.

3. Rooms need updating at Halcyon, and the bathrooms are small apparently

4. Many said they stayed at Halcyon because it is the quietest, but by the 2nd or 3rd day were bored and ended up traveling to the other resorts to take part in their activities.

5. Few restaurants to choose from compared to La Toc and Grande

6. Halcyon Beach has not undergone renovations yet, but I did hear that they were supposed to soon. I would check on that as well because you don't want to stay at a resort that is a construction zone!

7. I think there are only 2 pools at Halcyon Beach.

All in all, the Grande is the nicest and newest, but the most expensive and La Toc just underwent tons of renovations in the last couple of years and is more quiet than the Grande. My travel agent said Halcyon Beach usually isn't booked for honeymoons nearly as much as the other two resorts, mainly just because you get more for your money food/activities-wise at the other two resorts.

I stayed at La Toc two years ago and when we were on the bus traveling to the grande we stopped at the Halcyon first and it was practically on the highway. It was so close to it that if your room is right there, you're basically in the street. It was sort of odd looking too, it didn't have nearly the same 'wow' factor as the other two. HTH!
