sandals (halcyon-st lucia) vacation

FI and I took a couple of days vacation to get away from work, snow and wedding planning to Sandals Halcyon in St Lucia. Anyone planning their honeymoon there- you will not be disappointed! We were a little hesistant at first after reading so many mixed reviews, but we really had a wonderful time!!! If anyone has questions please feel free to FM me!

I am going there for a week... I can't wait! All I have heard is good things... what type of room
did you stay in? I have a couple of friends that went there and loved it! Can you tell do they have a dress code?
some people say it is dressy for dinner and some say it is not? thanks

our room was nothing fancy, but it was not our HM so we had a room that overlooked the gardens (which were beautiful) and you could see the ocean in the distance.
as for a dress code- different restaurants had different standards- the most formal restaurants required men to wear long pants with a collared shirt, no sneakers and women to wear sundress/pants. Most of the restaurants are pretty casual but you can't wear beachwear.
We found the Pier restaurant to we wonderful- well worth the hour wait! We weren't impressed with Marios and preferred Armandos for Italian (at the golf resort). Marios and Kimonos are the only 2 restaurants requiring reservations. Sorry this answer was so long-winded. My mind is still on vacation

We went to the golf & spa one evening for dinner. We had no problems with the shuttle at all- except having to wait for one to go back, but it doesn't matter cause you're on vacation and you can enjoy all the activities at the resort you're visiting anyway. We found to golf resort to be huge- there are shuttles that run just within the property. We ate dinner at Armandos and I highly recommend it- it was quiet and wonderful. We met a couple on their honeymoon there who loved staying there- for me it was just a little too big, but it's so subjective. I'm sure you will have a wonderful time there. The island is beautiful. We took the day sail tour on the catamaran- you stop and go see the botanical gardens, sulfur springs, have lunch and go snorkeling on the way back. Enjoy!!!!
