Danielle and I were originally planning to go to Sandals in St Lucia but now we are thinking of Jamiaca.
I looked on Sandals website and there are a few resorts to choose from.
Can anyone give me an idea of what is the best resort to stay at?
Thanks, Scott

Re: Sandals in Jamaica
I like to send my clients to Sandals Negril, the beach there is awesome!! The other one that is nice is Sandals Dunns River. In my opinion, those are the 2 best Sandals in Jamaica. There is also Royal Plantation, it is managed by Sandals, it is adults only and is small and romantic. (It used to be called Beaches Royal Plantation but children were never allowed there).

Re: Sandals in Jamaica
We were going to go to Sandals, St. Lucia also but we didn't want to lose 2 full days.
I checked out each resort in Jamaica and ended up going with Sandals Dunns River. It was sooooo much fun plus they had the most activities out of all the resorts. We thought about Negril but there were no direct flights there. I heard the Royal Plantation is really good also. Montego Bay would be my last choice because it is literally right in back of the airport here planes going over most of the day.
If you go to Jamaica, definately fly Air Jamaica b/c the airline and Sandals in Jamaica are owned by the same person. The day you are leaving, Sandals has any early check in where you bring your bags that you want to check down to the front desk and you can check in from there and they take your bags to the airport. So when you go to the airport you don't have to wait on the long lines to check in, you just go to the gate.
Definately check out Dunns River, Royal Plantation or Negril. Ochos Rios is nice but i heard that it is a little boring and the pool in very small.

Re: Sandals in Jamaica
We are going to Sandals Ocho Rios, Jamaica. I was told by my travel agent that is was beautiful, and we would have nothing to worry about (since I had voiced some concerns with regard to being run down and other things).
I have heard that the best ones in Jamiaca were Dunn's River, Ocho Rios, and Negril.

Re: Sandals in Jamaica
Thanks for the advise....Dunns river and Negril were the two that were recommended to us. I have to call a few places and get prices. I see that Jamaica is also alot cheaper than St Lucia.

Re: Sandals in Jamaica
I wanted to book with a travel agent but liked the prices on line better. I went to Liberty Travel and got a quote from them and then went to discountallinclusive.com and they were lower. So I called Liberty Travel in Bayshore and asked if they would match the price and they did. However i didn't have to book airfare b/c i was getting it through my american express points.

Re: Sandals in Jamaica
My FH and I went to Jamaica this past feb and stayed at Couples Negril and had a blast. At the time we were deciding between Sandals or Couples and we were told by the travel agent that at Sandalsv there was more pressure to to all the activities and Couples was more laid back and you did stuff at your own pace.
I wasn't too thrilled with Montego Bay. I felt like people on the street followed and harrassed you to buy stuff and give em money.
Went to Ocho Rios for a day to do the waterfalls and that was really nice. I've heard that Ocho Rios has some nice resorts as well
Negril beaches are beautiful!!!!!!

Re: Sandals in Jamaica
we went to ocho rio's and have a great time, meet great people. we went for a day trip to Dunns river. Dunns River was nice, too but more quiet. I'm glad we stayed at Ocho Rios, we were on the fifth floor, great view of the water. at Dunns river all of the buildings are set back off the beach. good luck which ever one you pick you will be very happy

Re: Sandals in Jamaica
Looks as if we are leaning towards Jamaica. I am just trying toget the best price so far. Not sure which resort we are going to stay at yet, it is between Dunns river and Negril.
