FH and I NEED to book our HM really soon. We wanted to do a certain trip but found out we can't:(
So, we are looking into a Sandals trip. We want both laid-back and relaxing AND upscale and fun. We don't want to be bored and need lots of stuff to do. Does anybody have any suggestions based on a personal trip, HM or feedback you've heard? TIA.

Thanks Jenn.... I really want to book the HM....that's the last thing to do.
You're countdown is on! How exciting. Have you posted pics of your dress and stuff? Are you all set?

Re: Sandals Question
I just got back from the Sandals Regency in St. Lucia. If you want an easy trip, I recommend it. However, if you are looking for somethng a little bit different, I don't recommend it.
In addition to the Regency, we also stayed at smaller villa in the Southern part of the country. I liked this a lot better, and it was a lot less expensive than Sandals.
It really depends what you are looking for! I heard that the Grande was overbooked. A couple we met at the Regency had originally booked the Grande, but the Grande didn't have enough room for them. I found that Sandals was a bit crowded. If you are looking for privacy, I don't recommend Sandals.

Re: Sandals Question
I actually disagree with the privacy issue. I had a great time in the Sandals Regency St. Lucia and never felt like I didn't have privacy. You can meet people or keep to yourselves here.

Re: Sandals Question
I have been to a few different Sandals, always giving the next one the benefit of the doubt, but I hate sandals resorts and would probably never go back to one. I think the food is bland and they are over crowded and over rated. I would recommend to go to a lesser known chain like the RIU resorts. They have wonderful food, elegant rooms and are just as reasonably priced as Sandals. This is my opinion...I have never had a good experience at Sandals..

Re: Sandals Question
DH & I just got back from our HM at Sandals Grande Ocho Rios! It was AMAZING! We stayed in the Honeymoon Villa w/ Oceanview and pool! Lets just say it was very private, laid back and romantic! the resort is HUGE, so you feel as if you are in a world of your own! Yet there is tons to do if you feel like getting involved in the action!!
Here are some pics:
1st pic is the Manor side, DH & I stayed in the Villa on that side, and we feel it was very private. The Villa our set away from the main house on the Mountain.
We haven't gone yet, but we're leaving for the new Mediterranean Village at Sandals Grande Antigua next Monday. Since it just opened, we were able to get some crazy discounts and got the Luxury Ocean Villa One Bedroom Suite w/ Private Pool for more than 1/2 off (I think they do 1/2 off sales pretty often though).
Description: These spacious 1,400 sq. ft. one bedroom suites feature large plasma televisions in the bedroom and the living room, as well as lush outdoor settings with private plunge pools and Jacuzzis. The bathroom features twin wash basins, a large roman tub and separate shower, all with elegant marble highlights. These suites also have expansive private patios to enjoy spectacular sunset views. Butler, Concierge & Room Service.
I'll give a review when we get back...

Re: Sandals Question
If you want something on the quieter side I would recommend Couples - Sans Soucci or Negril. I went to Couple Negril and loved it. It really depends on what you are looking for and what your age bracket is. the majority of the people staying at the Regency in st. Lucia were around 23-28 and there was a constant party going on around the main swimming pool. There was a quieter pool on the 'bluffs'. If you want to go to St. Lucia, it is such a beautiful country that I would not recommend Sandals but would recommend a resort down in Soufreire. Anse Chasnet is gorgeous.
