Sandals Regency/Jade Mtn or St. Lucia Girls - HM Review with pics

Hi ladies,

I have not been on here for quite some time but had to share my wonderful late HM experience. DH and I have been married for almost a year but were just able to take our real HM due to work schedules etc. We returned on Friday from St. Lucia. We had a split stay - Sandals Regency for 7 days and then Jade Mountain for 3 days. I will start with Sandals -

Because we splurged on the Jade Mtn stay we stayed in a regular oceanview room at Sandals which was perfect. We were not in the room often so it suited our needs. We had a nice king size bed and a perfect view of the ocean. The room was very clean and they did some nice things for us since we were celebrating our HM. One night we got champagne and another rose petals on our bed. We were also treated to breakfast in bed one morning. The wonderful service the staff at Sandals provided was apparent from the moment we pulled up. They greeted us with champagne and cold towels. The ride from the airport was like a rollercoaster ride and was 1.5 hrs but we were prepared and took motion sickness meds prior to the ride. Also, we met two great couples that rode with us and we wound up having lunch with them once we arrived. They made the trip go fast! I was nervous about how the food would be being that I have stayed at all inclusives before and was not impressed BUT the food at Sandals blew me away!! Everything was so yummy...there were several restaurants that did not require reservations but two that do! Make those reservations early....we did not so we missed out on them. However, we were so happy with the others that we did not care. Armanodos the italian spot was very good! The main pool was quite packed early on so make sure you get there early for towels. My DH and I are beach people so we preferred going to the beach which was only steps below the pool. The beach was never crowded which was nice. If you like a quieter pool experience visit Sunset Bluff pool for less crowds. They have a swim up bar and nicer lounge chairs. Also, head there for Sunset one night - sunsets there were amazing. DEF DO - the candlelight dinner on the beach (you get to customize your menu) - it is extra but so worth it!, rent the cabana (also extra 50 bucks from 1-5pm) - so worth it again. You get butler service all day and can be totally lazy and take it all in. We loved it so much we did it 2x during our stay. Couples Massage - amazing!! book early though. Photo shoot - every guest is entitled to a 15 min photo shoot of your choice for free. We chose sunset on the beach. Pics came out awesome and wound up sepnding an arm and a leg on 14 out of the total of 50 they took! Sunset booze cruise(thru sandals) - was awesome! We met so many people and the rum was flowing!! We chose not to do any more Sandals excursions b/c I did research on Joe Knows Tours who will solicite on the beach. They are cheaper and more fun! We did the land tour and he took us to so many places we would have never seen had we gone on the Sandals Land tour. We loved it! Overall we LOVED everything about Sandals and can't wait to visit another! (PS there are ALOt of cats on the resort to keep rodents away. Cats don't bother me so I thought they were cute. If you are not a cat person though, don't worry they were sweet and did not bother anyone as far as I could tell).

Now onto Jade Mountain! The MOST amazing place I will probably ever get to visit! You get top notch service (for a hefty fee of course) but again so worth it! We got upgraded two room levels upon arrival which was great news. DEF recommend getting the meal plan. Me and DH did not do this but spent so much on food that we would have saved alot of money if we would have added it on...next time! We had not one but THREE butlers at our service. You never had to leave the room if you did not want to. Our room was amazing with a huge infiniti pool in it. I will post pics because words cannot even describe. The food and service blew Sandals out of the water (annd we loooved sandals)! There is no connection to the outside world though...no tvs cell phones etc. They want to provide a tranquil experience and they sure do. So if you or your FH are like DH and get bored easily don't do more than 3-4 days there. We were given a firefly in order to contact our butlers with any requests...and they really were there within minutes. They asked if they can unpack us...and said that if we were down at the beach and wanted so little as a magazine to call them and they would bring it!! It was crazy! If you are not an outdoor'sy type def research this place first. The whole resort is open air & no AC's. Our room like every room at the resort only has 3 walls - the fourth wall is the view of the piton mountains. So yes, bugs and birds can come in freely. However, we saw very little of this due to the high altitude and trade winds (the resort is nestled into the side of a mountain). I def don't like bugs or a camping type experience but I loved Jade and had no issues at all!! It was a little warm at night but me and DH went for a swim before bed each night to cool us down! The shower and bathroom was even completely open making it what every honeymoon should be about---being closer to your DH in every way possible LOL. There is a sister resort a short walk down the mountain called Anse Chasanet where there is a beach and restaurants. We visited there for a few hours and enjoyed our time there. There was full beach service, so again you did not have to leave your lounge chair!

St. Lucia itself is gorgeous and unlike any island I have been to. The mountains make it so unique. We saw all the things they are known for including the piton mtns, waterfall, botannical gardens, mud baths, rum factory etc. All def worth seeing! We went during 'rainy season' so I was worried that it would rain most of the time - but it did not! It was beautiful all sun the first three days. After that it would rain occassionally but clear up within five minutes so it never ruined anything we were doing. It was super humid though...soo girls don't even bother doing your hair!

Sooo, all you St. Lucia girls are going to have an amazing experience!! Hope this was helpful..FM if you have any other questions!
