Has anyone here been to Sandals in either St. Lucia or Jamaica? My fiance and I have been planning a Hawaii honeymoon for the past few months but it looks like we might put ourselves into debt to go there. :( Which makes me sad because I'm dying to go. So now we are researching some other options. We are looking at Sandals but I've never been to one. If you have any positive or negative experiences to share please do so. I want my honeymoon to be elegant and perfect so I need help making this decision. I'm affraid that Sandals might be to 'big and impersonal'. Any help?
Thanks!!!! xoxo

We had a great time at Ocho Rios and it was very reasonably priced. We got a room with a private pool.

I hope this helps but FH and I booked to go to Sandal's St. Lucia. His godmother is our travel agent and never has steered us wrong on where to vacation.
I'm so excited to go - she said it's sooo beautiful there and lots to do and see.

There are actually three Sandals on St. Lucia. Hubby and I staid at the Regency and LOVED it! I am not a huge fan of all-inclusives but it was beautiful and the service was awesome. St. Lucia is a naturally beautiful island. I always describe it as 'the tropical island in movies that people get deserted on' A lot of brides on these boards have been to Sandals, so you might want to do a search. I will be posting pictures soon... hopefully.
I would also recommend Secrets in Punta Cana.

We went to Dunns River in Jamaica. It was great and we loved it but would go to a nicer sandals for honeymoon. We are actually going to Antigua Sandals for Honeymoon. If you like all inclusive, sandals is perfect.

if you want to go far away and not go into debt try pricing out places where our money goes farther like Bali, Thailand, Brazil.
If you want an all inclusive but want it to be a smaller place look into The Caves in jamaica and the places that company owns. Or check Palm Island Resort in the grenadies. I think they are owned by elite island resorts. they are AI places but more intimate. im sure you guys will find somewhere great!

if you are checking out jamaica---also take a look at Couples resorts---they are fantastic!!
but either way--you simply can NOT go wrong with either Sandals or Couples for an all inclusive vacation!!!

We went to Sandals Grande Antigua and were not pleased with the resort, but this being our honeymoon we made the best of it. I've done other AI's before, but never Sandals again. Service is slow, food is eh, the old part of the resort is OLD. New Med Village is nice, the rooms are gorgeous. They don't do evening spraying for mosquitos or sand fleas, so we got bit up until I bout bug repellant in town.
Better off going to a different resort chain. Excellence or Secrets do great AI in Mexico and Dominican Republic. In Aruba you don't need to do AI, lots of great restaurants. Costa Rica is also supposed to be a wonderful travel destination.

I've never been, but we're going to Sandals St Lucia for our honeymoon. I've heard amazing things from people that have been to the Grande and Regency as well as the ones in Jamaica and Antigua.

We went tot he sandals Whitehouse in jamaica. It is about and hour & a half outside Negril & very secluded. But you can go to any of the other Sandals for the day & eat & drink there if you want a change of scenery. Whitehouse was very nice. It is European themed. Pics in my album
