Sandals St. Lucia?
Hey ladies, Anyone have any feedback on Sandals, esp. St. Lucia? I hear great things, but then I hear you get bored. Hawaii would be my first choice, but I think it might be out of our price range. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks!

Sandals St. Lucia (long)
I went to Sandals St. Lucia in Jan '98 and '99. I had a good time. The weather was fabulous. However, there is not a lot to do. If you are not into hanging out with other couples to participate in activities, you will spend alot of time hanging out at the very beautiful pool. The beach at Sandals St. Lucia is not as nice as some of the other islands I have visited. The food is OK. The Pitons (Carribbean food)was really good. The American/Western style restaurant was terrible. If you are looking for a fun island, with stuff to do, nice beaches and great dining, I would suggest Aruba. My FI and I were there this past January. We stayed at the Radisson and absolutely loved it. Since we are not taking a full honeymoon when we are married in September, we will probably go back there in January 2002 for at least 10 days. Good Luck with your choice.

Hawaii
Hawaii is not as expensive as you think...they have a slowing economy and need tourists. I went in 2000 with friends ($800 each!!! - all staying in one room) then took my FH this year for $2000 for the two of us. We probably spent another $2000 there though. Through the deal we got you could have stayed in the best hotel for only about $700 more for the 2 of us. AND there is sooo much to do in Hawaii - but has a very long flight.

Hawaii
We stayed at the Waikiki village for $2000 for 9 days. (including airfare, hotel and transportation from hotel and airport -- the more days you spend the less it gets...my friend satyed only 6 days for 1850 for 2) We were going to stay at the Waikiki Beach for $2500, but decided to save some moeny. Its really nice and its where the famous Dukes is. The back of the hotel is Waikiki Beach. There is also the Royal Hawaiian (the famous pink hotel in movies) I think that priced at about $3000. Its the nicest in the area. There are also deals for Maui. We went to www.deltavacations.com and everything works out really well. We added a day trip to Maui through a link on www.hawaiiguide.com Everything is amazing...it really is worth it...just take sleeping pills for the flight - i slept the whole way there and back.Welcome New Vendors
