Re: Sandals St.Lucia?
I booked my honeymoon today!! Im so excited. My FI & I are staying at Sandals Grande St. Lucian in St. Lucia. We got quoted at $5,002 (or something like that) for 8 days & 7 nights. (Without airfare - air rates are not available yet for next Aug.) Im pretty sure we got this rate because we are booking super early. I know it seems a bit pricey, but we booked the 3rd to best room they have available, which is the swim-up lagoon room. (The room with the pool you can literally step right into from your patio) The other higher priced rooms are the Presidential Suites, with butler service. If you go on the Sandals website and you price your honeymoon.. it will give you rates for the room class your interested in.
I have never been to St. Lucia so Im only hoping it is as beautiful as everyone says it is. Our other two choices was Hawaii.. which is rediculously expensive & Aruba which I didn't care for much when I visited the island on a cruise. Aruba lacks the lush tropical enviornment with beautiful trees & waterfalls that I LOVE!!! Aruba has everything else though.. the weather, the nightlife.. shopping & everything you can imagine.
However... We choose Sandals St. Lucia because #1 ITS ALL INCLUSIVE!!! We never have to worry about paying for food, drinks or watersports.. How awesome is that??? Also we chose St. Lucia because we heard only horror stories about Jamaica & Antigua, and the only other location was the Bahamas which is well... the Bahamas. St. Lucia is safe. I spoke to my travel agent today about that. I dont want to have to be stuck in a resort for my entire honeymoon. I want to be able to go off the premisis without having to be worried about our safety (like we would in say.... Jamaica.) St. Lucia is also a beautiful island with friendly people and lots of things to do & see. Sandals also offers hurricane insurance--which is great!!!! We are getting married in the middle of hurricane season, so having this extra insurance is really great. Oh yeah... theres 3 Sandals resorts in St. Lucia so you can stay at one & play at all three.. Check there website.. This all seems perfect!!
I have only heard great things about Sandals.
Please let me know if you have any questions!

Re: Sandals St.Lucia?
I got this directly from the website:
Honeymoon Lagoon Swim-up Concierge Room - HR
A truly unique room located at pool level. These rooms are located in the Massade, Rodney Bay and Monchy Buildings. Here you can literally step directly from your room into the Lagoon Pool. A truly romantic escape.

Re: Sandals St.Lucia?
Just so you ladies know, I went to Sandals St.Lucia Regency 2 years ago and it was absolutely amazing. There are a ton of restaurants and bars. The breakfast is amazing and you don't get it at the grande. The regency provides a HUGE buffet and makes all fresh omellettes of any kind. They have everything for breakfast. Don't expect amazing American food for dinner though bc its def. caribeann food...but its great!!I would suggest to anyone to request to be in the main building. The upgraded roooms are nice but are far from the pool and beach. It is a huge resort, so depending if you want to be away from everything go on the bluffs, but if you want part of the daily action at the pool and stuff, request the main building. I cannot say enough wonderful things about it. My sister went to the Grande and said nothing but wonderful things as well. They don't have as many restaurants, but its still beautiful. Good luck and have an amazing time. I can't wait ot one day go back!!

angel2006....you'll LOVE IT!! It truly was amazing. You have so much to do and if you want to just veg out and enjoy the sun, you can do that too. We cried when we left and I'm not joking!! I'm jealous!! Have fun!! The pictures on the website is EXACTLY what it looks like when you get there! Go for a massage at some point. The spa is beautiful.

Thanks cutiepie!! I can not wait!! We actually went for the water's edge on the bluff eventhough it is away from the pool we wanted a little seclusion and I love the idea of being in the mountains and I love to walk so it was not a big deal to us... I can't wait to give you all a review!

Re: Sandals St.Lucia?
I booked the Grande St. Lucian but Im now considering the Regency. I still have plenty of time to change it. They all look just so beautiful.. The fact that you can stay at one and play at all 3 is the best part!!!
I was looking through the brochure yesterday and was drooling. Looks like theres alot of photo opportunities.
What about the rest of St. lucia? Is theres alot to do?? How is it???

Re: Sandals St.Lucia?
You'll love it then. I believe that you will have your own mini pool there too!! And those come w/ fully stocked mini bars and they restock them daily!! You can order room service too up there . There are several pools though, so you'll have others to go to. you'll be far from the main pool.....but really if you are up to a walk (which isn't that far really) you'll be fine. Plus they have mini vans that take you up and down the hills!! Your view will be AMAZING!!! Enjoy!!

Re: Sandals St.Lucia?
FI and i thought about it at first and then we decided that we want something alittle more secluded and private. We were thinking like a villa or hut somewhere where you dont have to interact w/ so many people all day. We are VERY outgoing people, both of us. But for the HM we decided to stay alone

Re: Sandals St.Lucia?
The Grande is newer and has a little nicer bathrooms in the rooms than the Regency. I think it also has more water sports due to the water over there (its more calm at the Grande) The Regency has a beautiful spa, more restaurants & bars. It's a toss up!! I think no matter what you do, you'll be happy. My suggestion is this......stick w/ what you booked, and visit the regency for dinner a night or 2!! Go to KOMONOS!! It's the best restuarant out there (Japanese). Just book your reservations as soon as you arrive!! Next time we go, I'd like to try the Grande!! Either way you go, you'll be sooo happy. You can't make a bad choice in St. Lucia!!!
