Sandcastle and Greece

Has anyone had their reception at Sandcastle and gone on the honeymoon to Greece? or have any info about it? I've been reading that you need a min of people or a certain pp price. Any details?

We looked into the Sandcastle...The price was $110 for a Sat. afternoon in Oct. and $105 for Nov. (with a 150 min) and we would have gotten the free honeymoon in Greece.

My friend had her wedding at the Sand Castle--thought the place was adorable, however, not really my style.
The food however, I must admit was amazing!!!!
One of the best food I've tasted at a catering/reception hall.

Please keep in mind sandcaslte promised her some stuff, which they never did for the guests. One of them was a champagne and strawberry toast for all the arriving guests. They never did it and she was quite upset about that, because she was really looking forward to having her guests being greeted that way.
Just make sure you keep on top of them, as with any other reception hall.

Re: Sandcastle and Greece

I'm getting married at the Sand Castle and was offered their HM to Greece, but I'm not doing the trip to Greece (because I wanted to go to Hawaii).

My friend had gotten married at SC and did the HM to Greece and she loved it there! I saw her pics and the place did look really nice. I know she did have to be spending a certain amount of money there (not sure how much) in order to get the HM to Greece. But the money amount you need to meet will obviously be met by having a certain amount of guests.

I'm not sure how it works now, but on their website it says how new for 2009 every couple gets the free trip. So I'm thinking as long as you meet the minimum for having your wedding there, you should get the trip to Greece.

Supposedly the resort in Greece is only open certain times of the year. So the place is actually closed in November, when we're getting married. They told us we could still take the trip - but we'd just have to wait til April 2009 or so when it re-opens for the year. We thought about maybe still doing our regular planned HM and then just doing the trip to Greece in 2009 as a regular trip. But considering we're trying to save for a house and will have other expenses, we probably should not be flying to Greece. Because while the resort is free, you still have to pay for airfare and for activities down there.

But the SC is a great place. Been to a few weddings there and loved it!!! I've always heard great things about the place, and I'm so excited to be getting married there!!!

My BIL & SIL did their reception at Floral Terrace which are the same owners...they took the trip, but didnt do it as thier honeymoon they went as a 1 year anniversary trip....and HATED IT!!!! they're a little older and are a little better off with money so they're used to nice trips so i dont know if greece just didnt live up to their expectations or if the hotel was truly horrendous.....all i know is they swore they would never go back.....i should hope it was the hotel b/c greece has so much history how could it be a terrible place to visit???
