Re: Sangria

INGREDIENTS:
1 Bottle of red wine (Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Rioja, Zinfandel, Shiraz)
1 Lemon cut into wedges
1 Orange cut into wedges
2 Tbsp sugar
1 Shot brandy
2 Cups ginger ale or club soda
PREPARATION:
Pour wine in the pitcher and squeeze the juice wedges from the lemon and orange into the wine. Toss in the fruit wedges (leaving out seeds if possible) and add sugar and brandy. Chill overnight. Add ginger ale or club soda just before serving.
If you'd like to serve right away, use chilled red wine and serve over lots of ice.

Addition ideas: sliced strawberries, peaches, handful of fresh blueberries, raspberries, kiwi, a shot or two of gin, brandy or rum, a cup of ginger ale, citrus soda pop or lime juice.

Re: Sangria

20 servings 10 min 10 min prep
Change to: servings US Metric
1 1/2 gallons Burgundy wine
1 liter mango syrup
1/2 gallon lemonade
1 quart orange juice

This makes a large amount of Sangria, make sure you have a container large enough to accomodate the ingredients.
Mix all the ingredients and let chill in the refrigerator for a few hours.
Add fruit if you'd like.
Use your imagination and ENJOY!

Re: Sangria

mmmm sangria...

I cheat a little when I make my sangria. I buy the ready made sangria from the liquor store...they sell them in these huge gallon bottles for really cheap.

But then I soak some oranges, lime, lemons, (whatever you want) and some sugar in some rum overnight.

The next day, i pour a little of that flavored rum into the ready made sangria...then i throw in some more fruit.....my favorite mix is with oranges, lime, lemons, pears and strawberries.

I like my sangria super sweet, so i'll just buy the frozen strawberries that are frozen in sugar water and just throw that in.

At my job, we make a Pomegranate Sangria and a White Peach Sangria that everyone loves. I wish I knew the exact ingredients!
