Sans Souci

Sans Souci

My finacee and I are looking for a place to have our wedding and we've narrowed it down to two places - Sans Souci (in Sea Cliff) and The Old Field Club (in Old Field). My finacee grew up by The Old Field Club so we are a little familiar with it (but if anyone has any feedback on it we'd still appreciate it!) but we don't really know anything about Sans Souci. If anyone has had their wedding there or knows anything about it - positive or negative - we'd love to hear from you!

Thank you!!!

I was supposed to have my wedding there, but we canceled. Nothing to do with the place though. It was because they just started construction across the street that wouldnt be done by my wedding.

Re: Sans Souci

I was at a bridal shower there on Sunday!

Food was excellent, cake was AWESOME! I thought they must have got it outside the catering hall, but I was wrong! We had three choices salom, chic francese and steak. All were excellent! Salad was good, dressing was VERY WATERED down. The place was very clean and had an excellent view. Nice size dance floor and it's away from the main tables (or at least that's how they had it set up for the shower).

Service was okay, I think it's hard to judge service at a bridal shower for what to expect at a wedding. There were 50 people, only 2 people serving and it looked the the manager helped them. There was no bar, just juices and punch set up for self service. I think this was the option of the people hosting the event.

This is just my opinion, I think it's a great place for a small wedding. I say small because in comparison to the other rooms I saw it looked small. There are windows lining the whole room.

Overall I was really impressed and if I was having a small sized wedding (like no more than 150) I would definitely consider it!

Editing to say: there definitely was construction, but the view was still pretty. I would imagine when that's all done it will be even better. I would ask what the construction schedule is like if this is something that would bother you.

I looked at both. Of the two, The Old Field Club would be my pick. When I narrowed down my choices to two, it was between the Old Field Club and East Wind (where I am booked). I didn't like the indoor option for ceremony in the event of rain at Sans Souci.

I didn't book Old Field because at the time I was looking, they had not yet redone their menu (have they done this yet?) and everything was a la carte (including the wedding cake!!).

ETA: With everything a la carte the price per head was out of my range.

Thanks! Yes, the Old Field Club changed their menu - we're actually going to meet with them soon to finalize and we're hoping to book for next year. But thank you so much for your input - it really helped!!!
