I bought a pewter key with santa's head on it and it come with a storey explaining the key is to be hung on your front door so santa can come into the house, since you have no chimmeny. I thought it was so great for when a child asks,,,,'how will santa bring toys if we have no chimeny'?

That's so nice!!
We grew up in an apartment without a fire escape and my parents used to tell us that santa can get anywhere there are kids. We just believed them
my grandfather (a mason) told my parents when they bought their house (before it was built) that he would put in a much better fireplace than the builder would...he never did...
so santa would come through the back door

Like Christine, we grew up in an apartment also and being on the first floor we didnt even have fire escapes..
We were always just told that he was magic and he could do anything..thats what made him santa...and we just believed also..never questioned.

I had gotten it in one of those mail order catalogues. I can't think of the name. It has lots of gret stuff you can personalize, unique gifts. Maybe do a search on-line.

Re: Santa Spinoff for parents with no chimmeny
My parents told us that Santa would come in through the ceiling in the back room of the basement. I used to envision a door on the ceiling that he would open up. Of course, it did not occur to me until much later that in order to do that he would have to come through the roof, the attic, and the floor on the main level, just to come back up to the main level where the tree was
A Santa key seems like a much more plausible explanation. So does walking through a door for that matter
