The other choice would be tissue taffeta.... here's the dress in satin vs. tissue taffeta. Also, we're probably going to do tea length in either one.... (not sure yet!)
With the satin, I'm worried about the girls being too hot. With the taffeta, I'm worried about the color of the fabric being weird (we're doing a pink...) and about it looking weirdly shiny in pictures.

ETA: The wedding is a DAY wedding. Crescent beach club... ceremony at 11:30 am (only about 20 minutes -- but outside.... then CH & reception... ends at 5pm).

I wore satin in July and it was hot. My dress was literally stuck to me by the end of the night. I'm getting married in July, and i chose a dress with a satin top and chiffon bottom, so that it wouldn't be all hot.

We went with satin- we just liked the look of it better, for some reason it was more flattering. SummerBride06 (or is it 05?) had the same dress in July or August...and she said her BMs were fine...I hope mine will be because August 4 is bound to be hot!!!

We're going with chiffon for our dresses.......most of the girls like the way chiffon layed better than satin.
Definitley a personal preference
Love your BM dress choices though!

My wedding is 2 week s after yours and my girls chose the same dress! It should be fine b/c it is at night and they always blast the a/c. I love it! What a Beautiful Dress!!!!

I am using satin, but am doing a light pink. My BMs wanted the satin dress brown, but I thought THAT would be too hot. I know for a fact that my girls don't mind!

I like that dress in satin better-Its my BMs dress too I didnt really like it in the tissue taffeta at all, the colors seemed off to me, like they would be hard to match. But I am also getting married in May so it wasnt really and issue. Have you seen the colors in the taffeta? If you dont like it go with your gut-whichever way that is pointing

My girls wore satin and it was fine, although chiffon would be a lot lighter.
I got married in July and my girls wore satin...honestly its HOT in July and they will be hot no matter what!

yup! i sure did!
we had the bill levkoff 966 and no one complained that they were hot. the dress was perfect! and it was floor length
