Re: Saturday
Do you want to be right near the theater, or anywhere in the city?

I like Aleo on 20th street between 5th and 6th. Small, romantic, wonderful Meditteranean inspired food. Not terribly expensive.
We love Beppe on 22nd and Park. Its definitely romantic and has great food. We are actually going to dinner there Sat nite for my bday.

Aureole on 34 east 61st street, it is right by the theater district you can walk it really quickly, we did and the food is absolutely amazing. I don't think I have ever had a better meal. You definitely need reservations and it is a bit pricey but the food and service is worth it if you are looking for a romantic dinner. The web address is www.charliepalmer.com/aureole_ny/home.html or you can google aureole and just click on the new york one.
umm.. It doesnt where the rest. is....as long as its cab distance

We recently ate at Bar Americain - the food was FANTASTIC!
Check out the menu online. It's very close to Broadway's theaters

Re: Saturday
Some of my favorite restaurants are Pipa (Spanish tapas), The Little Owl (American Traditional), Buddakan( Asian- many people will say this place is SO over, but I like the food, I don't care if its not trendy anymore), Stanton Social (small plates). There is also this Italian restaurant in the theater district that is really good, ugh, I can't remember the name. Sorry!!! All these places can be found on menupages.com. You can see the menu/reviews/locations/prices.
Oh and I wanted to point out that you don't have to spend $200 in the city for 2. Usually when FH and I go out for good meals, we spend around $150, with drinking.

I agree, Carmines is great! You might need a reservation though, cuz they get very crowded.
