saturday or sunday help?

saturday or sunday help?

first post! yay.

we've looked at a bunch of places while im here in LI (we are from MA) and fell in love with 2! of coarse this cant be easy...

heres my problem. The place that we LOVE more we can only do a sunday afternoon wedding. Ceremony would start at 11 CH 12-1 Reception 1-530.

or... we can do the other place we just like a lot and have the saturday night wedding that i have pictured all along.

I am still a little unsure of the feel of a sunday afternoon wedding. any advice?

would you do the sunday with the better place or the sat with the ok place?

We did a Sunday Brunch reception and everyone had a great time. Still drank, danced, and laughed it up the whole time. For me, it isn't the time of day of the reception but the people you are with.

Well, if the date itself isn't important (actual numeric date), then I think you need to think about what it is that makes you love one more than the other.

Is it the decor?
Is it the menu?
Is it the dance floor?

We had some of those same issues when choosing. We went with the one that had our date, had the right price, but aesthetically, wasn't as nice as our runner up. But in the end it was absolutely perfect...

Perhaps making a list of pros and cons and then really analyze the differences and think about whether or not they really mean that much to you.

GL! I'm sure which ever you choose will be great.

I would definitely go with the saturday night. Although, most people have a great time at sunday afternoon weddings, a saturday night just has a different feel to it. Most people are more able to just let go and party on a saturday night.

maybe look at more reception halls...with the ridiculous amount of halls out there, you should be able to find exactly what u want on a sat night...dont settle yet!

I'll be having a Saturday afternoon wedding and was worried about people not dancing and drinking (hello...open bar people!). BUT people have assured me that when they go to a wedding, regardless of the time of day, they are in the PARTY mood!!! So don't let that aspect of it worry you Go with what you feel will please you the most!

can you change your date for the hall you love so you can get the saturday night you want and the hall you love, that might be the best solution so this way you get exactly what you want.

ive been to both saturday and sunday weddings and both can be fun.

I guess you have to decide what is more important for you, to have a saturday wedding or the hall. But hopefully you can get both, i would talk to the hall you love and see what dates they have available for saturdays

Re: saturday or sunday help?

thanks for the advice.

we cant do any sat night becuase there is no way we can meet the minimum and afford the price! but we love the food and everything thats included is worth it. Also, this place starts the ceremony at 7. so the sun will be setting. Its on the beach and the grounds are beautiful so i cant imaging spending alllll that money and not enjoying the veiw and the outside the whole time.

What do you think the main difference in the 'feel' is between the night and day weddings?

Re: saturday or sunday help?

I guess some people would feel like evening weddings are more of a party time atmosphere...but personally, I don't do well at evening weddings (this is why I'm having the afternoon wedding). I don't know why but I tend to be one of the first people to leave because I get overtired. But I see what you mean about having the ceremony when the sun is setting...sounds so romantic.
Another thing I like about the daytime wedding though is the fact that if people want to continue to party afterward, they can do an afterparty!
