How far in advance should I send out Save the Date cards for a Friday daytime wedding on a holiday weekend? I think the standard is what? 3 months? Should I send them out earlier? Thanks.

Re: Save The Date
I think the STD's should be sent more like 6-8 months in advance for a holiday weekend.

Re: Save The Date
I sent my STDs 7mths in advance and it wasn't a holiday w/e , but I have alot of out-of-towners....I think for a holiday w/e it should be atleast 6-8 mths...b/c your invites go out 6-8wks before....
what holiday w/e is it? I have a wedding next w/e and they did something cute...they sent a STD card in their Christmas Cards....just an idea
I sent mine out 8 months before a summer wedding (thinking people go away) I think 9-12 would be better for a holiday weekend

I would say at least 6 months before for a holiday weekend.

Re: Save The Date
I didn't send mine until 4 months before. My wedding is this Labor Day weekend. I don't have many out of town guests though, so I don't think I needed to send them out earlier.

Re: Save The Date
I send mine out in April for a Nov. wedding. Since people will need to take time off from work for a Friday day wedding, plus it is a holiday I say the sooner the better. I got mine from www.cardstore.com and they address them, stamp them and mail them for you. They only charge you the price of the stamp to do that too! They even sent to Canda for me. I know some girls do postcard styles (which they offer) and it is less expensive.

Re: Save The Date
I'm getting married July 4th, 2003 and I'm planning on sending out save the date magnets with my Christmas cards, plus information on hotels in the area.
