Save the date cards????????

How far in advance should these be sent out.. We just received one today and their wedding is in September 04, it seemed early.. when are they supposed to be sent out?????????

I sent mine out about 6 months before the actual wedding....although we will only be engaged for 7 months total ...So, I sent mine out right away. Not sure if that was helpful or not..LOL.

that is a good question. I am getting married in Sept 2005 and I was going to send the Save the date's with my holiday cards this year.. (I also did not have any engagement party and I am not sure if extended relatives are aware of the engagement). is this too early?

We sent out ours in September..... You could send it our approx 6-8 months before your wedding especially for the OOT guests you have coming in. Also, some people send them out early because their wedding may fall on a holiday weekend.

I was thinking to send them out one year before . . . now I am thinking that may be too soon- maybe x-mas before our wedding . . .

We are getting married next year so I was thinking of waiting until at least January so that people have their new calendars...

We were kind of wondering the same thing. We have less than 5 months to go and haven't sent any out yet. How necessary are they anyway? My mother and his both had never heard of them. We aren't sure what to do.

you'll be sending out invites soon, if only 5 months to go. you don't need to send save the date cards, silly!
