Save the Date cards

Save the Date cards

Since I'm unemployed at the moment, I figured I'd get some wedding stuff accomplished. I want to start making my own save the date cards but I really don't know where to begin. I wanted to just have a single card with envelope but where should I get the cards? Does party city sell them? Also what do I say and what info do I need to include? We have a lot of out of towners coming.

Re: Save the Date cards

I made mine on www.cardstore.com It was less expensive then purchasing my own good stationary to print on. Party City type places usually sell only printed invites, not the cardstock. If you go into NYC you can buy good paper from some of the paper stores but that gets expensive too. Or you can go to Staples and get it. THey sell invite kits and so does Micheal.
Did you do a room block yet? If not, that is step #1. Keep in mind locations of her recception and ceremony, plus guests budgets. I booked my rooms at the Wyndam Windwatch. They will send you info cards to include with your STD and invites. Make sure you put the time and date of the ceremony and reception. Also, the hotel/travel info. I included that there is a free shuttle from Islip Airport and Ronkonkoma trainstation if they stay at the Wyndam.

Re: Save the Date cards

I just posted this as a reply to another post -- I mine on my computer using MS Word & free clip art. I got a lot of compliments on them & I thought they were really cute.

If you want I'll email a copy of what I made- just drop me a note at [email protected].
