My FI and I finally booked our church and reception YAY!!!! Our date is for August 2009. I want to send out save the date cards early so our family can plan ahead- but when should I send them? I don't want to be too early either. Any ideas???

I've heard that the rule is 6-9 months prior to the wedding date if its on a holiday weekend or a destination wedding.

I agree 6-9 months is plenty of time. I sent mine out the week of Christmas for my wedding 9-27-08!
