Hi ladies. So now that we are inches from nailing down the date and plunking money down for the reception hall, I am starting to think about save the date ideas.
I've seen the magnets and some DIY post cards, but I'd love to know what other ideas are out there. Any and all ideas are appreciated (photos and cost info too, if you are willing to share).
Thanks much!

Re: Save the date ideas?
Hi, We did book marks that say 'You're Booked.' I saw them in a mag and had a graphic designer friend make them for me. I know not everyone reads or will actually use them as bookmarks, but I thought they were a cute alternative to the magnet.
www.Sonicstefdesign.com has really nice ones, too.

Re: Save the date ideas?
I made DIY post cards (sorry: I hate importing things into web sites): It saved tons of $$$ vs getting them made. I think they came out to under $1 each (snapfish has printing sales & we used one of them): then add a bit for envelopes & making it on powerpoint was easy & fun & free (probably the only DIY I'll be involved with). Printed them with snapfish & put info on the back.
They came out BEAUTIFUL and people loved them. We wanted a photo (but thought the ones of the couple in current time were just overdone)...so we put child pictures in that were special to us. The STD cards had so much personality: probably my fav wedding thing!

I like the ones that are like a calendar of the month.....with the date circled. I didn't do STDs, but I've seen many, and my favorite was one like that; it was also a magnet which is very handy.

Re: Save the date ideas?
We have been toghether for 7 years, so I did a pocketfold with our pictures.. the front said 'from then' with a pic of us from our HS prom him putting on a corsage, and you opened it up and the inside said...'until now' with a pic of him proposing!...and in the iinside pocket was a magnet STD.
We have gotten such wonderful responses, everyone is calling to tell us that they love it! good idea if you have been together for a while!
i am trying to get pics, but am having some trouble...hopefully they will be in albums soon

Re: Save the date ideas?
I did the typical magnet - we took a picture with a surfboard at the beach over the summer and wrote our wedding date on the board. It came out cute - we printed them on vistaprint.com and also made up little post cards to write all the information on! I also liked the save the dates that have a sticker with the date so you can put it on your calendar! i think that is a great idea!

Re: Save the date ideas?
I did post cards- i used a picture from our engagement pics and used vistaprint.com to upload the image and put our date on it. It cost almost nothing, because they give you 100 post cards for free...I think we paid 15$ for shipping.
